I don't like David Madden, but I want to see for how long he'll win.

He seems too pretentious.

I used to watch regularly but haven't in weeks. I should start again.

I used to be a complete "Jeopardy!" addict, but it comes on at a crummy time for me. Plus, I got really tired of disputing question wording and occasionally questionable answers. (I am such a dork.)

Yeah, I started watching around May of this year, and I can't seem to stop. I've known of "Jeopardy" all my life, but I guess it's only now that I've realized that it's a pretty good (and addicting) show. Well, the season's over, but I'll still wonder how far Madden will go!

Jeopardy is a great show I learn something new everytime I watch it.

LOL, I would hope you learn something new ;)

:)

It's hard not to learn some interesting facts from watching the game. I guess it's so addicting because it's easy to get involved (ex. Yell at the TV when none of the contestants answer a question that you may know!)

I watch on and off throughout the school year (sometimes extracurriculars get in the way), but it's a great show and I enjoy it a lot. Madden does seem a bit pretentious but I think his daily double hunting strategy is awesome. We'll have to wait 'til fall to see how far he goes right? Summer reruns starting today I think.

I only watched the jeopardy show when my pre-calc teacher went on it sometime about 1.5 years ago... He was in the lead!!! but then he flopped on the last question =(

Yeah, re-runs start today (friday was the last day of the season :(). I've heard that he is a good "daily-double hunter" from a few people now (including Trebek! ;)), but what does that mean? He gets them all right anyway, so he's bound to catch those daily doubles. I mean, what's the deal?!?

What he does is deliberately hunt for the daily doubles to obliterate all hope of catching up from his opponents. For example, Double Jeopardy starts: as soon as Madden gains control of the board, he goes for something like _______ for $1600 IMMEDIATELY. He's usually successful in getting the daily doubles in the first 3 or 4 tries. That way, there's no chance that his opponent will pick up a DD, wager a true DD, and overtake him. He wants to get those out of the way first so there are no surprises later on (and he's usually very conservative on the betting too, wagering only a few hundred).

Oh... I get it, if he eliminates the high value questions first, then there won't be much to bet later on. Thanks.

P.S.- Yeah, he IS very conservative. I guess it's kind of annoying, but I can't really blame the guy.. he's in it to win. I think it annoys Trebek sometimes too, because he has asked "want to make it a true daily double?" quite a few times (but he stopped after he knew that Madden was never going to!). Haha!

Any more comments or opinions? It's an interesting show (very addicting too)!

Madden will bet a large amount if he feels pretty sure he will know the answer. He underestimates his own ability alot.

Also, I dont really get why you guys see him as pretentious.

It's true: he lacks confidence. I just get this "vibe" that he seems like a pretentious guy by the way we clicks on his buzzer, answers questions, etc. (Maybe it's just jealously ;))
