What do you look forward to the most at HMC: people who love what they do, friendly teachers, classes, CA
What worries you the most of HMC: I have heard stories of the immense workload brutally hammering Mudders into the very soil they stand on. I also don't know much about the actual curriculum, so I'm kinda shooting in the dark.

Oh, and I got accepted from the waitlist about an hour ago, and most likely coming to HMC! (the other choice was state college)

One of my sons, originally waitlisted, was accepted last week and will be attending HMC this fall.

In another post, I had said that US News reported that for the class of 2008, nobody was admitted from the waitlist. RocketDA questioned this, stating that he knew students who got off the waitlist that year. I think that the US News numbers are wrong, and that, instead of 33 students accepting a place on the waitlist, it's probably 33 students ADMITTED from the waitlist (just a guess). Not that those stats matter any more, except it made it even more surprising when he received the call. Admissions and financial aid people were working late last week.

I questioned the fact that no one from my class ('08) got in off the waitlist, cause I know someone who did. He was originally planning to go to Berkeley and then got in to Mudd with a full scholarship and decided to come here.

rocket & radioactive,
Sorry, I was going from my (poor) memory when I replied yesterday about who posted. And, the tone of the post was not intended to be confrontational at all - I probably should have said "pointed out" instead of "questioned".

Unfortunately, geography had been one of the few things stopping me from going, as well as prestige, unfortunately. What a bastard, I know. Well good luck everyone
