Admitted Students Program

Any admitted students going to the Harvey Mudd Admitted Students Program on April 9th ~ April 10th?

Affirmative. (haha 10 ten chars; eat this!)

um... I don't mean to sound ignorant, but *** is up with the "4567890" and the "10 ten chars"??

miniumum message length = 10 characters

oh my I never realized that before! thanks! I guess I just ramble on too much to ever experience that.

cghen, did you also apply to HMC?

I'm going.

omg finally another girl! good to know :D

So, Slak, Slorg, and krayongirl--are you guys for sure attending HMC in the fall?

im 50/50 between 2 schools

oh me too! What's your other school?

btw, have you received confirmation from HMC yet about you attending the program? I sent in my RSVP last week, but still haven't heard from HMC yet :/. I'm hoping they contact me soon, since I leave for California on Thursday!

Yes, i recieved an email confirming my registration (did you register online?).

As for my other school, its the College of Creative Studies Physics Program. The reason why Im interested is that class size is very small, no grades, and plenty of research opp and focus is on researching.

I'm unsure as to what I should do at this point. For one, Harvey Mudd's financial aid sucks. Secondly, I got waitlisted at MIT, waitlisted at Pomona, and a full ride to UW Honors. I would attend MIT or Pomona over Harvey Mudd, but if it's down to Mudd and UW, I really don't know...

weird--I applied online too and definitely did not receive a confirmation. Perhaps I'll call them tomorrow and ask about that. That Creative Studies place sounds kinda cool--where's that at? And krayongirl, what's UW? Personally though, I'd go for full ride versus a place that didn't give me much financial aid. However, I guess it really does come down to the campus visit, right? I don't know about you two, but I'm having an insanely hard time trying to decide b/t my two schools.

Its at UCSB but the program itself (statistically speaking) is harder to get in than berkely and requires evidence of passion (research, work, etc) and 2 letters of rec on top of the normal UC app. Its also nice b/c 4 people there recieved physics nobels so you get to work with them...

Whats your other school?

wow yea, Berkeley's pretty hard to get into. Are you from California? My other school is USC. (I'm in love with SoCal myself...)

ya Im from southern Cal. I only applied to i think 2 east coast schools and after visiting MIT in the winter I wasnt exactly "thrilled" at the prospect of snow :P. (Im a baby enough here when it comes to cold)

dncrditzx22, University of Washington ^^; Sorry! I'm used to abbreviating it.

Slak, I'm definitely not thrilled at the prospect of heavy snow either, but MIT is such an amazing school. I cried for two days after I got deferred and then some more after I got waitlisted...lol.

Ya I know its tough, it was my top school throughout highschool b/c of all the neat things outside of academics that go on there.

I got rejected, but it still wouldve been nice to have the choice :). However, it made decisions from Duke, WashU, ND, no brainer in that I didnt want to attend them.
