Who work harder, law students or med, and lawyer vs. doctor?

It's a matter of timing...

There is far more variety in the set up of med school curriculum (traditional, "core", problem based) than with law school. I'd say that if you're in a "core" set up like I am (with one science class at a time and tests every 2-3 weeks) then med students at least when comparing 1L vs M1. For traditional curriculum it's probably pretty equal until second year.

For third year definitely med students. Everyone works harder than M4's...

As for associates vs. residents. Probably associates, as there is no 80 hour a week national cap on hours worked like there are residents.

Lawyers vs. Docs. Depends on the specialty that the MD is in. And also how their practice is set up. Very hard to gage.

Ia gree with Bigredmed, but for me I really would have to say a doctor especially with being on call almost 24/7.

Being on call is a matter of specialty (Dermatologists are never on call) and/or practice set up, (many general surgery group practices alternate call). And just because you are on call doesn't mean that you are necessarily working.
