Colleges I'm applying to: CHANCE ME PLEASE; I'LL CHANCE YOU!

American University
Brown University (had interview, still not getting in, I know)
UF (double legacy, in state)
Johns Hopkins (not happening, I know :()
Gettysburg College (had interview with admissions rep)
Lafayette College
Union College, NY (with interview and on-campus visit, does that help?)

Just to get a feel: I've already been accepted to UVermont, FSU, Tulane, SUNY Binghamton, and SUNY New Paltz.

Any helpful comments would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Final thoughts: My uw GPA is low, I know. So i've written some very good essays that really show my personality and have asked two teachers to write my recs, both who think very highly of me so i'm sure they are nothing short of amazing. I've had some family illnesses that have affected my grades and my GC mentioned it.

Oh also would like chances for University of Richmond!

Are you just submitting the ACT? No SAT scores? You have similar stats to my son out of HS. He went to the University of Miami and just transferred to New Paltz. He also got in at Tulane but did not apply to your other schools. I am curious where you get in.

Keep us posted and good luck!

Hopkins and Brown are a bit of a stretch. While your extracurriculars and leadership positions look absolutely great, your GPA is a bit below average for those schools. HOWEVER, legacy does play a large role in admissions, particularly at Ivy League schools such as Brown. I certainly wouldn't put those schools out of the question. As for your grade in Econ, don't stress yourself too much about it. Your other grades show that you are a dedicated student and one that is able to balance a large slate of activities with your academics.

Can't see JHU or Brown, solid chance at the others.

Thanks for the chances. And lilymom, i'll keep you guys posted come april! :)

Edit: Lilymoon, I did in fact take the SAT (two times) but both times I got a 1100 which was below my ACT and therefore didn't send it!)

Any more feedback please?

I think you really know your chances already. You have good chances at everywhere except JHU & Brown, and you know that.

The thing is.. those schools aren't exactly safeties or matches for anyone. It is very posssible for you to be admitted to either of them. They both have and do accept people with quantitative stats such as yours.. let's hope your essays are great!

thanks xsteven, you seem somewhat familiar :) lol.

But yeah, i'm just getting more stressed out as the date looms before me (april 1st that is)

bumpp? (10cha)

bump please

Your ECs are great, considering your major(s). However, your unweighted GPA is kind of low for Brown/JHU. You have great chances everywhere else.

thank you for the feedback.

any more please? i'll chance you back for sure :)

ehh last bump before i let it die :(.
