<p>applying only for the schools I really want to go to in America, because a lot of the universities here are so good that they are better than what my safeties would be in the US.
I’m applying to:
Smith (on EA or...
Barnard (on EA)

UPenn
Princeton
Brown
Wellesley</p>

<p>If I don’t get in, I’m pretty much guaranteed a spot at Australian National or University of Sydney; so having matches or safeties isn’t an issue.
We don't have a GPA here, and I’ve taken the hardest course load possible (extension and Tertiary courses (pre college). AP's aren’t available.</p>

<p>The grading here is also funny. Here, you can be valedictorian and receive a B. or in my case as last semester get a 96, be valedictorian, and get a B).
I attend a mid-class private school, most go on to ANU for college.</p>

<p>Sitting the ACT and SAT II (literature, math IC, and US history) in October.(dont know scores, not used to the american way of doing things, but was speaking to a educational advisor and she said as a International from Australia my SAT's and ACT's don't matter that much?)</p>

<p>Planning to write my essays about something unique in being Australian from an international perspective. </p>

<p>What Im really worried about is that some of the schools are not financially blind to internationals, and how much this will hurt my app.</p>

<p>SAT's matter much. I see many international students, even some from Australia and NZ, have perfect scores on them.</p>
