@All: I know that Penn begins to review apps around this time…so supplemental materials may be cutting it close! I e-mailed my regional director this past Tuesday afternoon with an update on some state awards I received and she said Thanks and Congrats (essentially) with a Happy Thanksgiving thrown in. Not sure if that means it will affect my decision, though. Last week, my counselor updated my regional director on a grade increase (from B+ at quarter to A) in Calc and the regional director specifically mentioned that it would be “added to my application”. Interpret this how you will, but the deadline may have passed to add in extra info!

@sweetcookie: This has nothing to do with Penn, but I just baked a batch of cookies for a coworker of mine and saw your username. Instant smile. :)

@hardworking21- Hello, there. I like everything you say. And although I don’t know you, I want to be your friend. If we both get into Penn, let’s be pals.

@everyone- I’m stalking this thread significantly more than any social networking site.

Hey guys,
SO I posted earlier about my broken url for my nonprofit. I emailed the records Wednesday but I havent received a reply. I’m assuming it’s bc of thanksgiving break, but is there anyway to know whether they will factor this in before they look at my app or not?

@Hardworking, do you know that decisions are coming out 3pm est time (or was that just speculation?) I’m flipping out cause I’m taking my driving test two hours before then–going to be a big day!

@All–I know I barely know you, but goodluck in these next 12 days and hopefully we will all be classmates next year. You all seem like very nice, incredible people who deserve to get into Penn and hopefully the admissions committee will see this too :)

Wow. Didn’t know my name could catch people’s attention LOL. I think it’s a childish account name, but it’s the only one I can remember since I’ve used it for a lot of other websites since I was little. BTW…I totally don’t know how to bake cookies, so I think I might settle for a tub of ice cream instead.
I agree with straciatella. You guys all seem so nice, intelligent, and accomplished. I’m confident that many of y’all will get in. It’s really good to see all this moral support around the thread.

HAHAHA. That’s exactly what I was thinking. I have all these pre-conceived mental pictures, so it would be cool if they match up. But I’m not exactly clairvoyant so they’re probably way off.

@hardworking- you’re a better friend than my real friends. That countdown is now my Mozilla homepage.

@everyone- Have you told your friends that December 9th is the date? I told them December 16th to be sneaky so no one asks me on the 9th in case I’m really depressed.

@straciaella- You’ll get your license and into Penn in the same day, that’s awesome! But from last year’s thread, 3 PM seems to be when it was released. However, I’m not sure if the thread is EST or what, but people started posting around 3:02 PM.

I posted this under a new thread, but do you think it is too late to update a November SAT score? My student forgot to send the score it. Apparently, she aced the test.

She will call the office tomorrow to confirm this, but in the meantime, she is sleepless right now.

@EmPaige21 - I’m contemplating on telling my parents Dec 15th…I’ll still be at school when decisions are released (3 pm perhaps) so I don’t know if I should rush home that day after chem club to check on the computer or check on my phone in the school bathroom LOL.

I was thinking about checking the decision while I’m having Physics. If I get in, I would yell it out loud in the classroom; if not, I’ll just tell my friend that UPenn just lost a good student. (Ha~!)

I’m so excited… these 12 days are NOT gonna be quick at all!
Alright let’s have a survey… what would be the first things you would do if you get accepted to Penn on Dec. 9?!

@BruinLifer: I replied to your other thread.

@EmPaige21: Aww. That’s kind of you. But it’s just a simple countdown!

@All: The past few years have been 3 PM EST, so I just assumed the same. I won’t check till I get home…I’d be too emotional at school. And I guess I told people Dec 9th…might as well get it over with (the stress at least)!

I don’t want to check this thread because I feel like I’ll get too attached to y’all and be heartbroken if I’m rejected. Anyone feel the same way? lol

@levinel
First thing: Scream and cry
Second thing: Tell my parents
Third thing: Call my friends
Fourth thing: Facebook Post
Fifth thing: CC post
Sixth thing: Withdraw applications/Remove Common App
Seventh thing: Cry some more and friend all you guys

^^ I sound like a little baby but that sounds about right :)

@crazypluto
Oh god…me too.

@Alex
Yeah…I have a AP Stats test that day that I’m sure to fail. It’ll be worth it though if I get in. If not… :,(

I would a) CRY HYSTERICALLY b) add Penn Class of 2016 to my networks on facebook/ add it to my education c) The next day I would drive to Penn and buy a slew of sweat clothes/ bumper stickers/ keychains d) I would slowly tell all of my friends.

And I’d add everyone else on facebook so we can become best friends early.

But I’m lame :)

@Everyone- Did you apply anywhere else that has either rolling or non-restrictive early action?
