Well, it is great to see that you are all applying into business/science/chem and engineering majors. Looks like there is less competition with Anthropology. :)

Good luck to you all!!!

College GPA: 3.81
SAT: 2260
SAT II: 2240

Cornell is mad legit. Hopefully they dig my statz.

anyone finish with their applications yet?

yes, dragon speak, my application is in and they've sent me the login for checking my status. some transcripts are missing from my file, but I've sent in all that was needed.

good fortune to all of you!

aahh, how long did it take for them to send you the login?

Oh cool. I just had a couple of questions. Does the prof who wrote my recommendation letter have to fill out the Common App Instructor Evaluation form or will the letter suffice? On the form it says "or" not "and" so I was wondering. And, what was the procedure to send in course information ilivefree? Did you e-mail it in? Did copying and pasting the syllabus information suffice? And lastly, I'm taking a 2 semester course and the first semester mark for the course is not on my first semester transcript and that obviously gives me an inaccurate GPA. If I get an official letter signed with the correct re-calculation of the GPA, will that be OK? Oh yeah, and chance me, above! :-D

Dragonspeak, I applied on 1/2, I think, via CommonApp.org site, and I received an email with my login to check my status on 1/20.

zirtico, I think I submitted course information via the common app. Either it was in the main app or the supplement (I don't remember). I just put in course dept, number and title as per my college's course catalog. Example: English 5 - Critical Thinking

Also, I think you should be fine with a letter, not the common app form (since they use the word "or"). I'm not sure about the 2 semester course. Maybe someone else can help with that.

Good fortune to you!

anyone got Cornell's NetID?
I logged into it and could not find the page to check my application status...I could only see the To Dos ... anyone having the same situation?

Yes, I have mine. You are using the wrong link; that link is for Financial Aid. Try this one:

https://selfservice.admissions.cornell.edu/

When you login, there is a list on the left hand side and the first thing on it is "Check Admissions Status".

Hope that helps!

Does cornell require recs? And do they require spring semester grades?

Yes, and yes. Check their site.

ilivefree: thank you so much! finally I can log in!

I still have not yet submitted anything besides the common application form.. going to work on the others now..

Did anybody else have an ILR interview? How did it go? Ian was great with me, but I made a fool of myself. I felt like Sarah Palin on the Katie Couric interview.... just kept blabbering on and on =

When are you all goin to turn in your mid term reports?

what do they want on the midterm reports...just midterm exam grades, or what your grade in the class is currently, or what it would be if the semester ended right then...???

What your grade is currently...

I'm going to have my teachers note my grade the week of March 9th, then I'll mail it the Friday of that week.

To the above question... Wouldn't your midterm grade be the same as your grade to this point and your grade if the semester ended now? Seems all three are equall. :P

If I send in my rec. letter, how will they add it to my file? Especially if I'm not using the Instruction Evaluation Form and sending just the letter. Will they just read the first sentence to find out my name? Can I send in Midterm Reports and Rec. Letters before submitting the Common App and supplement?

midterm reports are lame.

On the letter, put "RE: Your Name, Your SSN" so the can attach it to your file.

I would not send those forms in until you common app is sent. The app will cause them to open a file. Better get on it, Isn't the deadline March 1st? (Maybe the 15th)
