would you guys say that it’s natural for a sophomore transfer to have a higher gpa than a jr transfer?

I would say yes…since a sophomore’s GPA is calculated based on fewer credits than a junior’s. But it all depends on the student, school, level of commitment, etc.

Why would you say that?

well, its just my opinion and i might be wrong, but i think the junior level classes would be harder than the lower level classes…thus harder to get a higher score .

I think it would be easier for a junior transfer to have a lower GPA simply because more credits means more chances to screw up (but also more grades to cushion…) so perhaps more do, but I wouldn’t say natural.

what do you guys think?

hmmm…i agree that junior level classes are harder…yet i would say that if you find them hard, your classmates probably won’t find them easy.
but one thing for sure is that transfer students have a lower chance of graduating with a higher GPA than people who have been in the school since first year simply because it’ll be a fresh start for us transfers when we get to the new schools, and we don’t have our good grades from before to cushion us…

I really think we should all ease up with waiting every night. It’s very possible that the decisions won’t come in for another two weeks, so we’re just driving ourselves crazy.

agreed on the junior gpa vs sophmore… my sophmore was a 3.8 my junior is 3.67 bcause of a bio lab 4 credit class… more classes are just more chances to screw up somehow

notice how all of our CC logos say we’re online right now…ALL
for the past few pages even

Can somebody fill me in, please? What are you guys waiting for?

uhhhhhhh waiting to hear our admissions decisions

What time do they usually update?

5 mins? est time?

Alright thanks. Will be checking mine too, although it has said “forwarded for review” since early April.

what school are you applying too? yeah i just checked and mines lame like always

AAP. Something will appear one of these days, so good luck!

This is ridiculous (but hey I’m here as well, so this must be amusing). It probably won’t come out for another two weeks and here we are going OMG 5 MINUTES LEFT!!! waits repeat in 24 hours

Darn you Cornell. My mom found an envelope in the mail today from “Cornell University, Admissions & Enrollment” and left it on my table. It was the same one as the email telling me that I’m missing material. Now she probably figured out I applied in secret and will 1) know I failed… a second time 2) ruin the surprise. BOO.

On a site note… wouldn’t it be hilarious if Cornell released all the results by twitter?
“@randomeagerstudent - accepted
@internationalstudent - rejected
@goddessxx - accepted, just kidding…rejected HAHA try again next time.
Fingers getting tiredddddd, will tweet in 15min, stay tuned!”

sneaky bastads

Forwarded for review. I swear, we’re gonna drive ourselves mad. Let’s not do this every night.
