ironicallyunsure … what school are you applying to? and does you status page say “the committee is reviewing your app?”

I spoke to the ILR admissions office today. They said that everyone who applied there should know their decisions LATEST April 30th.

I called saying the site still say “Not Submitted” but they say it’s under review… wonder what the delay is in updating the site

Yeah, I guess updating the status of the page is inversly proportional to decisions. Meaning if the rate of updating of the status page decreases, then the rate of which decisions are made increases. And Vice Versa haha

IM SCREWED… So, I just decided that I didn’t want to do the CALS AEM program and would rather do the CAS econ major so I just called and switched my application to CAS and they want a new academic interest essay… now I won’t get a decision until much later and they’ll probably reject me. F&@k!

Realli? I honestly think u shoud stay in the AEM program. Not only you have to write a new academic interest essay but also the CAS quote essay too I think. Did they say that?

Yeah that is true, I have to write both of them. Well, I don’t really want to do the AEM program because its too much of an undergrad business program. I initially applied to it simply because I thought CALS admits more transfers than CAS with the intention of internally transfering if I didn’t like the program. But, I only recently realized that the prereqs for AEM include two econ courses and my current schools curiculum has econ courses sophomore year so I didn’t even meet the requirements for AEM (I’ll be studying aborad in China this summer so no summer school option either). Plus, I’ve heard AEM is actually the hardest major to transfer in. So basically I have to switch and I’m pretty worried about it but whatever theres nothing I can do now except write two bada$$ essays.

Wow, “LATEST” April 30th? It sounds like ILR (and maybe all of the colleges at Cornell) are being pretty ambitious in getting out transfer decisions this year. I know last year and years prior to that a lot of them weren’t given out until early May.
Thanks for the info. red sox girl.

Oh no…dear engineers, this is an email I got from Cornell:

Cornell Engineering’s transfer decisions are announced in May and in June, and occasionally into July. Our process is very thorough and takes a significant amount of time. It is highly unlikely that you will have any kind of decision on your Cornell Engineering transfer application by next week. I would encourage you to proceed with whatever plans you need to make at this time, and we will notify you of our admissions decision as soon as one has been made on your application.

Best,
Meredith

awww…well that’s great that it’s thorough right? lol

Ouch. Tough for the engineers, but the ILR stuff is killing me.

Oh dang, I’m sorry to hear about that with the engineers. But hey! I have faith that you all will be accepted :)!!!

Wow, my heart nearly stopped when I got to my mailbox. Big envelope from Cornell Admissions. Open it to find a brochure and letter encouraging me to apply for financial aid… Watch out for it, my heart is still racing.

Lol. I still didn’t get my packet :(… Even though it has been only 3 days since my acceptance haha… :)… I’m still goin to jump around with my acceptance letter :-p!

Hold up, so there is no decision yet, but you did already get a letter encouraging you to apply for FA?

THey didn’ give me my FA packet yet. I dont think I will expect it until early may or something cuz I forgot to sent in my parent’s W-2 copies. They have everything except that. WHich sucks!! BUt either way I’m going to cornell :)…

I’m pretty sure they send it to everyone. I got the same packet after Spring applications when I was rejected, so it is no indication of likely acceptance. It is just a fancy brochure called “Financing Your Cornell Education” in a big white envelope.

so we engineers are in for the long wait i guess. That sucks and even adds more uncertainty to the all issue. This is good in a way because i can just stop checking for my decision anytime soon.

In. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Dupes, what college and major and what are your stats??
