Wow I just got my Net ID!!!! I turned my application 2 days ago too!! I just activated my Net ID and right now I keep getting this error. It says,

This web site is for the use of Cornell University applicants only. Unauthorized use is prohibited."

Are you guys getting the same error? I can't check the status of my applications or anything. AAHH!! Should I just wait for a day and if I still get this error I should contact them about it?

how long should i wait for my high school transcript to be process? I send my high school transcript on Feb 13th. And on my Net ID it says they havn't receieved it yet.

Is there a way to know if Cornell has received my SAT/TOEFL scores? Would Cornell notify me if they are missing?

(I logged into the application status website just now and it only said that my Common Application / Supplement / Final High School Transcript / Instructor Evaluation / College Official's Report have been received.)

I am not really sure. Have they arrived at Cornell's application processing center? For me, it took about 7 days before I see my application items marked as "Received" on the tracking system.

It just says not receieve!! uuh i hate my high schooL!! they probably didnt write the right address...... Gosh this... I also send my college transcript about a week ago.... uuhhh

What do people think about teacher recommendations...I've seen that people are sending more than one here and for other schools (although some are from activities and administration, etc.)

I think I'm going to send three. Is that good or bad?

Does a secondary school report need to be sent in from high school? My high school transcript has already been sent in. Also, I've heard that Cornell is not 100% need-blind regarding financial aid. They put you into a more competitive pool of applicants apparently. I'd rather know that I got in the regular pool if this is true, and not get any aid and not be able to go, rather than be declined in the financial aid pool and not know whether I could have gotten in and not go of course. I'm wondering whether to apply for aid. Oh and also, I hang my head in shame about this, but I forgot an " 's " on one of the names in my essay even after proofreading it several times (submitted). Will this hurt me? So does a SS Report need to be sent?

Will the 's hurt you? I can't imagine it'll sway the decision. Maybe if the admission rate was <1% or something. But, honestly, it's out of your hands. Go to a party, enjoy life and school, blow off steam.

Don't worry I was in the same state as you a few weeks ago when I kept seeing X's on my application status.

I emailed them about it and got the following reply

"But it does take up to four weeks from the time we receive it to the time it hits your online account. Please keep checking and do not send duplicates. After March 15 we will let you know what you are missing.

FYI, their system is slow to update (or they are slow to update it). Another School I've applied to, in the same region, indicated that all my items arrived 2 weeks ago and Cornell's system is only just now showing some things received. Give it a few more weeks, then harass your high school.

The "s" missing shouldn't hurt you. I may have had little booboos on mine too.

I already asked this question, but I was wondering, are secondary school reports required or are transcripts enough? Living in a different city, I don't know how secondary school reports would be of much help. And furthermore, in Canada, I was in one high school for the first term of my grade 8 year and in other high school for the other two terms of grade 8 and all of 9, 10, 11 and 12. Would a secondary school report/transcript be required from my first high school?

I have applied to the School of Hotel Administration as a Transfer.

Colege GPA: 3.51 (courses include many upper-level junior or senior courses taken as a sophomore).

EC's
- President/Co-Founder of Economics Club
- Independently Released a self-titled debut album on Apple iTunes
- Tutor for Macroeconomics and Financial Accounting hired by my current educational institution.
- 2 1/2 Years of Restaurant experience (bus person to line cook)
- Held a summer intern as an IT specialist (50 hours per week)
- Received merit scholarship, and an "outstanding student" award at current institution.
- Hockey player

Pending on how good my rec's are, and assuming that my midterm report is great, I feel confident....

yet again, with the crazy competitiveness the hotel school stirs up, I'm not really sure where I stand. To be 100% honest, I do not know what I'm up against in terms of other applicants for the hotel school. Can anyone share their thoughts?

Ahhh, I just finished my application and I'm having last minute jitters. NO, SERIOUSLY, I'm shaking!!! Cornell is my top choice. I'll be crushed if I'm rejected. =/

zirtico, i made an even bigger mistake. i stupidly forgot to put the name of my most important activity on the ec section because i rewrote the page something like 4 times and just forgot. only realized it now, but i put my position. my short answer essay is written about that activity though, so i think they'll manage to understand what i mean. hope they dont think i'm careless =/ good luck everyone!

escapist, me too. i'm actually only applying to cornell because it's the only place i really have my heart set on.

just as a general question, how many recs is too many? when i went up to visit i was told to have at least 1, and then as many as i thought would be good to give them different perspectives of me as a person and as a student. i ended up with 5. 2 from alumni who know me, 1 from my advisor who also taught me 2 classes, and 2 from regular professors. what do you guys think? i think they'll help more than they'll hurt..
