Ok guys, there must be cc kids who are applying to Middlebury RD. I am! I haven't quite finished editing my values essay but I'll prolly submit my application later this week! Oh, and I'm from Texas...so if I end up in vermont next year, I'll be shivering like crazy:)

i am applying RD! i cannot write that essay. i am just incapable. haha. but i am from hawaii so i think i will be encased in a small ice cube.

Is your name a shout out to Anchorman (aka the best movie ever)????? Don't worry on the freezing thing, as a texan I will be frozen from october to march- but I love snow, so it'll be fun!

"i love carpet, i love desk"

"are you just looking around the office and saying you love things that you see?"

"i love lamp"

Ha ha...ok, guys, a few tips for those of you worrying about freezing (this is from a Californian who is used to the lowest temperature being no lower than 32 degrees):

Fleece-lined jeans and flannel-lined khaki pants from LL Bean. Trust me, you get these and you do not need long underwear.

Long, thick down coat from Land's End--they come in bright colors, too.

Hats with fleece bands on the inside around the ears.

Lined gloves.

Scarves.

Thick socks and snow boots...and/or Uggs, I know they're terribly out of fashion supposedly, but they work.

I recommend REI as a place to shop, too. The Alpine shop in Middlebury also has lots of these things.

thanks, that will be quite helpful. i'm pretty excited to buy winter clothes, actually.
and yes, my name is definitely in reference to anchorman. that movie is just so funny.

"where did you buy those suits... the... toilet store?"

"brick killed a guy!" "yes, i've been meaning to talk to you about that, brick. you might want to lay low for a while, find a safe house or something. you're probably wanted for murder."

i could go on but i will spare you all. i must go watch that movie again. hahah.

it was on TV today when i got home from school...its soooo funny

haha "I stabbed a man in the heart!!!"

oh baxter, you're so wise-- you're like a miniature buddha covered in hair!!
It's officially my goal in life to say that to a complete stranger out of the blue...

Anyway, back to Middlebury, thanks for the tips Lindyhopper, I'm going to need all the advice I can get. It never gets really cold down here in texas- i'm not even sure my thermometer goes below 40 degrees:)

40 degrees!? omg. i don't think it's ever gone below 66 here.

"he punted baxter waaaahhahahhahahah...."

Just for reference and just so you know...wind chill can make it negative 20 or so, even lower....but note that that's with wind chill, 'cause that's important.

i can not even respond to that. haha. i am going to die.

I'm applying RD too... good luck guys!

I'm applying RD.

wind chill 20 degrees!!! Man, I'm gonna start eating hardcore so i can have like 25 layers of fat for next year! Has anyone visited Middlebury?? What is the campus like? What kind of students does it attract (besides me of course)?

i visited over the summer. the campus was really nice. the buildings/grounds were really pretty. it was much bigger than i thought it was, especially since the student body is so small. it seemed like it had great resources and the facilities were very nice. i'm not really sure what kinds of students go there but my cousin graudated and he is just uhh... nice and smart. haha. idk. i don't really know him THAT well since he lived in vermont. i'm sure someone can give a more in depth answer on that one.

My daughter applied RD; we visited in September and LOVED the Dance Department, the cheese and the school. Now she just has to wait...

I'm applying RD. I heard VT is much much colder (and sooner) than Romania. Heh. Joy. coughcough

i as well am applying RD to Middlebury, although it isn't my top choice.

I'm applying RD to Midd!!!

Time to bring the Midd forum back to life I think. It's been dead for the last few days - now, were you all out partying, or finishing apps?
