I just checked my irattler, they’re now telling me what I need to send in for financial aid. FINALLY!!!

to all of you who got accepted i was wodering what kind of envelope your letters came in? was it in a bigger sized one ore a regular one? curious…

@diamond537: where in the irattler do you find that info? because when I click on financial aid it brings me to another page that is a loan borrower page, and I don’t want to do that.

@mimi: I first got a pharmacy program acceptance letter, and it was in a normal envelope. The letter told me that it wasn’t the official acceptance letter. When I got the official acceptance letter it was in a big envelope with a packet of information.

@gator lol well that is good to know. I need some study buddies.

@diamond good. I wish they would tell me more about my scholarships though!

@ gator and cdames: its weird in a good way that we all are going to be in the same class.
I hope that in 6 years we all become successful pharmacists.
One of my roommates (who I didn’t know was my roommate at the time) added me on facebook, and I have an idea who my other roommates are (from facebook) too.
If you guys are comfortable we should add each other, because we’re gonna end up seeing each other anyhow, and since we are all upcoming freshman its good to get to know each other. And not just cdames and gator everyone else too.

@ava good idea… If anyone want me to add them on facebook send me a private message with your url.

@ava999 in irattler, you sign in, then click campus solutions student ctr. Then click self service, and towards the bottom you see “student center” click on it. after you click on it, look to the right and you should see a “to do list” it tells you what you need to do and turn in, I found out that I needed to turn in my parents tax forms under that “to do list”

I need help tho my self, irattler is telling me that I need to send them a “Final High School Transcript” I asked my counselor and he told me that they wont be ready until mid June, but my transcripts are due May 21. he was telling me to just send a regular transcript. Did anyone send in their transcript yet? and if so, was it a regular one.

ok soo i kno i’m super late but i just sent of my transcripts off today. I sent everything else much earlier and they have been saying they have all but my transcripts. however, when i found out i got into to spelman i didnt care. but spelman is 40,000 a year && Famu is much cheaper plus i could get bright futures. so it’s like paying $40,000 vs $0. long story short i want to keep fam as a backup do you think i am to late?
btw idk

@ava: I thought about what you said and I think the only reason I would be choosing UF is because the campus looks nice. With FAMU I don’t have to worry about trying to get into pharmacy school because I’m guaranteed a spot. UF is very competitive, I think I’m so smart but there are some really smart people in the college world and I heard at UF a lot of the pharmacy kids are actually kids that wanted to go to med school but settled for pharmacy for different reasons. My cousin goes to UF and she has a friend who tried to get into their pharmacy school this year after being there for 4 years and he didnt get in, so now hes going to try again next year, meaning it will have taken him at least 9 years to become a pharmacist thats if he even gets in next year! I live in South Florida and I’ve only met one pharmacist that graduated from UF and it took them 8 years and they did not look like me if you know what i’m saying. With FAMU they are more nurturing because its smaller and they want minorities as well as others to succeed. At UF there are thousands of kids that can replace you, so you’re not special. A lot of the pharmacists in my area of all different races graduated from FAMU. And FAMU is paying for me to go to school for the first 4 years so I would be kind of stupid to turn that down just because UF has nice dorms. Although I can afford both I’m still going to have to take out loans at some point and the less loans, the better. Also, pharmacy kids are like one big family because again we’ll be in the same classes for 6 years and I like that sense of camaraderie, we’re all in the same place in our lives with the same goal, the average pharmacy student at UF is 26+ years old. Once you stop living on campus after 1 or 2 years, Tallahassee is a better city to live in than Gainesville because theres much more to do since its more than just a college town. And FAMU’s pharmacy school is not easy to get into, I’m the only person in my school that I know of that got in, I know 3 people that got into FAMU in general but were rejected by the pharmacy school, I heard only 200 or 300 of either 2000 or 3000 applicants are accepted, thats a 10% acceptance rate! FAMU’s program is highly regarded too, when you say pharmacy school in my area, most people say FAMU and since they produce more pharmacists than UF, chances are your boss at work or while your doing a residency is a FAMU graduate. I’ve also never really heard of anyone failing FAMU pharmacy, the only people that do are the ones that party all the time but I know a few people that it may have taken them more than 6 years but they still graduated with that PharmD. So basically I picked FAMU because I’m securly in the program so I know I’ll be a pharmacist in 6 years as long as a stay focused and work hard which I’ve never had a problem with, with UF maybe it’ll happen but theres a good chance it wont even with hard work because like they say at UF “you were in the top ten percent of your high school class but so was everyone else that got accepted to UF.” I also chose FAMU because its my cheapest and quickest route through pharmacy school and because of the family atmosphere.

@cdames: lol, we can definitely be study buddies, you too ava!

Anyone know how to change your username? lol

congrats to all the kids who got into the pharmacy program but is there any one who’s like me and going to FAMU for something else?

@AliSans well im trying to get in but hopefully when i do i will be going there to major in biology and chemistry…what are you going for…whats your major?

@alisans
I’m going in political science

@mimi9210 the best of luck to you I’m sure you’ll get in and currently it’s Pre-Elementary Education
@diamond537 that’s cool my mom went to school for that. What do you hope to do in the future?

im so happy i finally got in!! what do i do now?

@mimi turn in housing and all the forms that you need to. Call to make an iRattler student account

@ AliSans a lawyer turned politician like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for example.

They accepted me for the Summer term, yet my financial aid page in irattler doesn’t have any money listed for the summer term, just the upcoming Fall and spring term. Maybe I need to send them a 2009 tax form. IDK hopefully it gets resolved soon.

@cdames or to any others who was accepted… they sent me my acceptance through email and said they would be sending me a packet with the rest of my info in a week…does this mean i have to wait to apply for housing and financial aid or is there another way to do this? like can i go on their website and print and mail the forms? i know its late so there probably isnt any good housing left idk…?

@mimi You can print out the housing form from their website:

[Housing - Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University 2010](<a href=“Page Not Found”>Page Not Found)

The other forms I think you have to wait for the packet to come in. Also apply for orientation.
