ALTHOUGH I pm’d you my answer to that specific question, I feel the need to post it here just in case someone else goes through the same dilemma as you. Here is my response:

The question you need to ask yourself is: What matters the most. You said in FAMU you can be a pharmacist at 24, while in UF you might not even be a pharmacist (pharmacy school is hard to get into)…YET you said that the area in FAMU is by far the worst you’ve seen, and in UF its great.

Therefore the way I see it is:
Education vs. Social life and environment.

Education being FAMU.
Great social life, and beautiful environment being UF

If you go to UF, you will have alot of pride because you are gator, and its a hard school to get into BUT is all that pride worth it, if you leave the school with no pharmacy degree?

Your going to college for one reason: to be a pharmacist.
And while UF is a GREAT and BEAUTIFUL school, what if you don’t make it into their pharmacy school, or you graduate way later than planned?
Would you look back ten years from now and regret not going to FAMU? (Where you could of easily got into their pharmacy school, and became a pharmacist at 24). I mean do you think the risk of going to UF is worth it?
And then you have to factor in: what if you do get into UF’s pharmacy program? But then again what if you don’t.

@Gator2014 Hey, I wish money wasn’t an issue… I just found out that UF gave me a scholarship that was 12,000 over a four year period… I do not have a full ride to FAMU (I need to increase my ACT score 2 points but I took it again and feel confident about it *crosses fingers) but even so they still provide me with more money and plus the school is cheaper. And as far as entrance to the pharmacy school that played a BIG role in my decision. UF does have a lot of social opportunities as well as academic opportunities… If I decided I didn’t want to do pharmacy anymore I wouldn’t want to be at FAMU either I would be at UCF or FSU. My issue with UF is that the school is so large and there is SOOO many people I don’t want to have a class with 100+ people all of the time or be forced to take online courses. So to answer your question making my decision was based on money/scholarships, program, and lack of enormous class sizes at FAMU. Also I was worried about not meeting the requirements to enter UF’s pharmacy school… And transferring to another school is too much work and causes too much stress. I feel like I have made a good choice. I would say go to FAMU lol but If you have such a passion for UF I think that is where you belong.

YESSSS!!!
I just found out that I was accepted into FAMU.
I’m so happy right now, it’s the school i liked the most out of all the rest. I have the summer term.

Well i just appiled on monday what should i do now i didnt get any infomation. My school dont do official transcript until after the school end i am homeschool and my gpa my 2.7 so thats and my grade 9-11 grade not my 12th grade year. So do you think i will get in.

@kytarra wow your kind of late. You wont get any information so soon. They have already sent out housing (which is limited) information and such. My school doesnt send final transcripts until school ends but they do send official transcripts (I dont know if you know there is a difference or not). It depends on your ACT/SAT score as well as your GPA just in case your slacking in one department you can make it up another way. How are your grades for your 12th grade year?

im having a problem also i applied late also(apr 12) and i decided to check the staus of my application by calling and they say they havent recievd my ACT scores so i re-sent them on the ACT website and called today they said they still havent been uploaded or something so im thinking hmm ok am i screwed? this is kind of my last chance idk what to do?

WOAH!!! I got accepted in February and I still HAVE NOT receive any information on Financial Aid, and/or housing response (I applied for housing in March).

I did not yet send in my second registration (because of High School transcripts and shots)

@mimi9210 They are more likely to get in via mail then online… and your transcripts should include your test scores in them.

@ava no worries I got scholarship information on the 5th of May. Housing information is found online as well as financial aid. Housing: https://rms.famu.edu/ Financial Aid information is located in the iRattler. There are two groups on facebook for FAMU class of 2010 seniors, you guys should look into it alot of information and updates can be found there…

^^^^^@cdames92 I thought the scores had to be officially sent like electronically…would they take them if i mailed them or faxed them? …did u have any problems with your admissions?

@mimi i would send them in the mail and electronically. And yes they did not receive my transcripts when I tried to send them in electronically, so I sent them certified mail…

@Ava no its your student number for both the username and password I believe its like 9 numbers.

I don’t know which dorm I’ll be in, they haven’t even sent me my financial aid information yet. They are taking too long, I was told that my classes start June 28, they need to hurry up with my FA so I can get myself situated. ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT THEM BECAUSE THEY NEVER ANSWER, NEITHER DO THEY RESPOND TO VOICE MESSAGES.

@ava & cdames: Thank you for all your help and advice. We might end up becoming really good friends because after a lot of thought and consideration of everything, I have decided to attend FAMU for pharmacy school and we’ll be in the same classes for the next 6 years starting this fall!

@cdames92 I check my irattler account everyday, it says “there is no financial aid available for viewing this aid year” and "Award access not available."I don’t know if Im verified or if there is something else I have to send them or not, they’re not telling me anything.
