The first eight or so drafts I wrote were tremendously... horrible. Not even going to use any of them. I can't even lie right, or make a fictional S.O.B. story sound good. And this writing workshop's pressuring me to finish three final essays in three days. Like how do I do that, I'm a slow worker because I need everything perfect.

Use a real experience. It’s honestly going to be easier to write about if you actually remember it/it actually happened, and it will allow you to really show the colleges who you are just by the way you tell the story (hopefully this will be more subconscious than forced; show, don’t tell). You’ll be fine. At worst you can just bs those three and write your real, good essays when the time comes. :]

I have been postponing this since I started the college search process just over a year ago. Fully cognizant of the fact that I WOULD put it off forever if given the chance, I took extreme measure and ordered my family to barricade me in my room without food until I had a first draft done. Took around 4 hours because I kept getting frustrated and rewriting, but finally I got a good core finished and am now almost done with revisions. Very happy :)

All of my schools are either common app schools or CSU schools (= no essay), and I’ve already written 2 common app essays. 1 is 591 words - or a page and a quarter, double spaced. The other is 729 words - or a page and 2/3, double spaced. I need to find a way to cut the second one without interrupting the flow -____-
