Among those of you who were accepted to Echols, who will be going to the Echols Day on the Lawn tomorrow? I'll be there, and I was wondering if anyone else would be...

I will be. Does anyone have a link to the schedule we recieved?

Umm, I think it's in the original acceptance email. I also think there's a link in the thread in which accepted echols people were posting.

i wish i could come so i can see some of what's being offered, and some of my potential fellow Echols Scholars, in person. instead i'll have to go to one of the standard admit days... hopefully i'll get a feel for it then.

i expect people to be posting notes afterwards!! :D

I just got back. It wasn't a bad day at all...I got to sit in on a few classes, tour the campus, and some other interesting things. I was fairly impressed with current echols scholars and the success that they're enjoying, and the program definitely gave me a better idea of what UVa offers. However, I'm still not sure that it makes me want to go there...

out of curiousity, where else are you looking, cavalier? (im an echols too, i was there- wasn't too impressed. i dont hate uva, but i dont love it either)

My current options are Rice, Chicago, and Georgetown. I'll be visiting all three schools over the next couple of weeks, and, to be honest, I don't have a true frontrunner yet. UVa is still in consideration mainly because it is instate for me and, therefore, around $8k cheaper than my other options. Where else are yuo looking, jessz?

hello, kelly!

Cavalier302, aren't you a physics major? Why the heck would you want to go to georgetown for physics?

Georgetown is just a cool school that I'd be happy to go to. Plus, it's local for me.
