Is anyone going who is from out of state? On which day are you going? Does it matter if Echols scholars dont go on the Echols designated day?

Are the visits worthwhile too? Because i gotta take a greyhound there and sleep over in the overnight. Its a lot of work and i want to know if its worth it.

im oos (FL) and i think im going up on the 9th/10th even though im not sure either is a designated accepted students day. im sure it would be ok for you to go on a regular accepted students day, but you might benefit more from going on an echols day, bc they will probably give you some extra info.
visits are totally worthwhile. ive completely ruled out certain schools by visiting, and ive fallen in love with certain schools (especially uva) by visiting.

My d is going on the 17th from Upstate NY. We're flying Jet Blue into Richmond, Brooklyn2. Say, are you considering Cornell, also? That's her top choice right now, but she also likes Va. It sure will be prettier in April...Mr. Jefferson's daffodil and tulip bulbs already in bloom.

you should definitely go if you've never been. a place like uva will absolutely consume you; you'll be nothing short of amazed by it. btw, quickdecisions, i'm out of state from florida too and i'm most likely going to uva. where in florida are you from?

That sounds like a terrible thing to plan on doing. Enrolling at one school with the plan to transfer out? What would be the benefit in doing so? If that's what you plan on doing, then stay at home and go to a CUNY. There's no reason to travel down to VA and get attached to one school (or to attend from the get-go as a temporary resident.)

Im not going to a CUNY. I never said i planned on transferring. All im saying is that it is being offered to me for next year and i am only considering it. Thats all.

Cosmo--I'm from Upstate NY as well! I'm visiting UVa for the lawn day on the 21st and probably doing an overnight that night...it'll be nice to get to nicer weather!!
