<p>So who's going to ucr and their reason, wheater it's rejection from other schools, aid, etc.</p>
<p>i dont like ucsb atmosphere/people r racist/not up for the lifestyle. + i didnt make ucsd n ucla after appeals.</p>
<p>I'm going to UCR. Why, well I didn't get in anywhere else good, I want to get away, and the campus/city itself is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.</p>
<p>Alot of my buddies are going to UCR. Quite of a few of them were UCSB and UCI material but this years admissions were insane and they only got into UCR. Although they complain, I really can't see whats worth complaining when you are going to a top 100 school in the nation. Any top 100 school is worth being proud of and has its special perks over any other school</p>
<p>Unfortunately for UCR their chancellor is leaving to become the new president of Purdue. A big loss for UCR.</p>
<p>Well seeing the salary of the previous chancellor, you can't really blame her.</p>
<p>Hopefully the new chancellor brings football to UCR, hahaha. A man can pray right?</p>
<p>Well UCSD is recently making a small push to increase funding for athletics and im sure UCR is at least looking into having their own D-2 or maybe D-1 athletics as well. Sports are too significant in how they attract students/can be free advertising for the school, so in the near future there probably will be a sports team.</p>
<p>I think this year lot of students had to go to UCR because of insane admissions.
Can some compare UCR with UC Merced?</p>
