<p>Saw this on the UCSB thread... and decided to do it for San Diego :D</p>
<p>"Hey everyone, I'm just a little curious on who is going to attend [UCSD] for sure. Not many people at my school are going to attend [UCSD], most of them are off at the other UCs... so of course I kind of feel nervous for being one of the only people at my school who will be attending SD. So, I'd like to know a bit about other people on these forums who are also going to SD!</p>
<p>Age, race, personality, hobbies, habits, quirks, etc. Why did you pick SD, your major choice, etc... Anything you want to tell about yourself! I think it might be fun to get to know each other better anyway...</p>

<p>So im 17...turning 18 soon... 5ft4inches, asain but im not the asian drama watching anime 4.0 piano korean/jpop kinda of asian, i would say im pretty outgoing, i like waving and saying hello to everyone in the hallways, so im pretty social, i love going out and seeing different places, i am terrible at sports but i dont mind watching sports...</p>
<p>Im still between UCSD and UCD,but im leaning more towards SD since it is in SoCal, the beach, the campus, the weather.. and i always imagined myself there... but 8 hours away from home is quite far. my major for all the UCs was psych but for SD i picked Communications</p>

i hope ucsd isnt as boring as everyone said it would be...

<p>I'm 17, turning 18 in October. I'm white, half Jewish and half Hungarian to be exact. I'm a Journalism/Poli Sci major, so I hope to be either writing about government or working for the government. However, I almost applied for film school and I love doing criticism so there is always that. I also play soccer, dance, and make pretty awesome sandwiches at a local deli. I'm outgoing, direct, and independent-- the stereotypical bossy leader personality. I love music and my favorite band is Radiohead (but I'd say I'm pretty eclectic). My favorite movies are Rushmore, Into the Wild, Pulp Fiction, and a billion more. I'm also addicted to House and Gossip Girl. </p>
<p>I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, so I'm a little unsure about moving somewhere so far away. But if I don't get into Berkeley this is my best bet. I also like to party. Cool? Hopefully UCSD isn't as socially dead as I hear.</p>
<p>Hey guys. I'm a 16 year old girl, Asian, and really short (5' 0") lol. Going to SD (Muir) for Econ (switching out of bio). I'm a total geek. Spend all my time playing video games (used to be mostly rpgs like FF, but now I'm on WCIII 24/7 playing DotA). I hate pink, shopping, and make-up. I might as well be a guy. But anyway. I love music (piano for 10 years, how predictable) and drawing. </p>
<p>Really excited for college. SD sounds like an awesome place, even if it's far from home (I'm in the bay area too). Not too worried about the alleged lack of partying or whatnot; I'm pretty quiet, but I still like to have fun when I can. </p>
<p>i'm turning 18 in september, chinese, [does height really matter? lol. i'm 5'1" and a half.] i love meeting new people, but can be a little shy around people i don't know at first. people tell me i'm random all the time, and happy, too. (]= i adapt easily, am very generous, and i'm horrible at lying. i procrastinate a lot. i guess i kind of fail at being asian because i suck at math. ><" i listen to any kind of music, you name it. like AhoyArielle, radiohead is my favorite band just 'cause. i work at a movie theater, which i guess is a good thing since i'm a movie addict. my favorite movie would be eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, if i had to choose. (x not much of a gamer, unless mariokart on the ds counts or something. ._. i can partyyy...like a rockstar. hehe. not too worried about the supposed lack of a social life at ucsd because i'm pretty sure it all depends on who you know, hang out with, etcetc. </p>
<p>i'm from the bay area. xD like junshik, i'm a winter admit. muir college, majoring in physiology and neuroscience. [taking a few community college courses in fall.] no guaranteed housing, so bleh. X= always knew i wanted to go to socal for college because i lovelovelove sunshine. it makes me happy. (= and then somewhere around sophomore year, i decided ucsd was my first choice because of how pretty the campus was. need to learn how to swim, though. have plenty of time to do that in sd, i guess. xD</p>
<p>there's a .2% chance i could go to davis instead, though. it's closer, and their financial aid package was a lot prettier than ucsd's for me. i only got $1000 in grants, but my total cost for the year was only around 17k since i'm a winter admit. ._.</p>
<p>I am Kevin. Black/Hispanic bio major at revelle. I play DotA too, some league/CAL games but mostly publics. I carry around a 7x7 rubik's cube. Come from CAMS, a school in Carson, California. UCSD was my second choice and there's 95% chance I am going. 5% Irvine, Barbara or some CC. In Bruges is my favorite movie. I hate school right now.</p>
<p>Hello. I'm a 5'7" Chinese male turning 18 in September. I'm definitely at the shy end of the spectrum. Like many of the previous posters, I'm also from the Bay. Uhh, for music, I don't have any preferences, I just listen to anything that sounds good. Err, I like to watch sports, go Raiders (yeah, I know xD...). I'm going to be in Marshall College, majoring in Biochem/Cell Bio. Definitely looking forward to the more independent life.</p>
<p>Hi, I'm a female 17-year-old (18 on April 15) who currently resides in San Jose, CA (one of the most boring "large" cities in the US!), which is in the Bay Area. I'm Chinese (though I don't really look it), and I speak decent Cantonese and Japanese. I love watching Korean dramas (currently into Boys Over Flowers) and I listen to a lot of K/J-pop (though I'm starting to drift back to English-language music now).</p>
<p>My favorite subject in school has always been science (except for physics! grr). I plan to major in biology or biochemistry. Career-wise, I'm not exactly sure yet, but I know it's not going to be in medicine (can't handle the pressure).</p>
<p>I tend to procrastinate a lot (like now!) which makes me always stressed out. It's a habit I'm hoping to end by the time I reach college.</p>

I've been really leaning towards ucsd but i'm still considering my east coast liberal art colleges.(bates, bowdoin, middlebury and some others) I was set on going to a small liberal arts college because I wanted the close attention and research opport but i'm kinda feeling like staying in beautiful sunny southern cali! I'm a pretty normal kid. I like to hangout with my friends and watch movies! i'm really involved with school activities so I will for sure be in a trillion clubs at ucsd. the one thing that I really love about ucsd is how serious the students are because I'm not too much of a party animal and I like to be around people similiar to me (although I don't mind having some fun!!!!) haha soo i think i wrote enough...</p>

<p>Hi im korean, 5'6'' epic fail height. I love playing sports but never got too good at it. Im majoring in poli sci but I want to be an optometrist. o.O</p>
<p>To start it off I live like 20 minutes away from UCSD lol (I live in San Diego) and I'm like 70% sure I wanna go here. I'm 16 years old, 17 in September, and I'm only half Asian lol (filipina) and half black. I got into Muir and am very happy for that, with a major in Chemistry because I wanna go to Med School. I plan on double majoring in Spanish because I really love the language! I think imma pretty chill person; I'm shy at first, but once you get to know me I'm really open. I laugh at pretty much everything and I loooove music a lot. I can be outgoing and shy- it just depends on the situation and the people I'm with. && I also love Gossip Girl but I also love The Tyra Banks Show! I'm definitely not the average girl - I'm very unique && random && take pride in being weird. lol. I'm looking forward to attending UCSD and I also hope the socal life isn't that dead- ppl I know that go there say it isn't that bad so I'll have to see if they were lying. jaja. : ]</p>
