only thing you have going for you is being from jamaica… every school wants to be the school that has the most diversity.

The schools only look at the highest score in each category on the SSAT. The won’t care about the 1st test.

Being from Jamaica will help you but those SSAT scores are still really low.

I give you a 4. Your SSAT scores are low but your Jamaican and don’t need financial aid so that’ll help

yeh, you probably have between 30% and 40% of some of the schools.

No way. I think on a scale of x/y you have to use the fraction as a coefficient with the admit rate. No way he has a 40% acceptance. That’s 2/5, way too high. Even if he IS from Jamaica it will not matter to extenuating degrees. It will be easier than Korea? Yes. It will not benefit as much as coming from say Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, North Dakota, etc.

Using it as a COEFFICIENT you get around an 8.4% chance assuming the 21% acceptance rate.

Just my logic, take it as you will.

I don’t know what your talking about…but using MY LOGIC. Your getting someone who represents a place you probably don’t have in your student body…and your getting a URM. Not sure what logic your using, not saying thats all thats gunna put you in. But helps a lot.

Take it as you will. Anyway, who the bloody hell are we to make any numerical judgement on someone determining their chances.

wow coefficients, congratz on passing algebra one hahahah. 8.4% doesnt make sense realistically, were saying based on his application. compared with other students its 8.4 , but there are 200 spots so the value of the product is atleast increaed by 25%… so as i said, he has between a 30 and 40% chance… think about it, sounds like a big number but he isnt being picked 1 out of 3 applicants, im saying the admissions is probably 2/3 sure of a no, and then have a 1/3 feeling of waitlisting or accepting. numbers lie, they arent what they appear. especially percents because variables arent identified. i learned that i learned that in Trig. and from my dad whos a private broker.

Meh I’m actually like in precal now. I wasn’t trying to act smart or anything that was just my logic and those words fit. Who cares… There is no formula to determine admissions. Chancing threads are so stupid, I try pitching in what I think but it is so pointless.

How bout we make it simple and let the people getting paid for the job make the big calls… You have a chance, or I don’t THINK you have a chance.

“no cuz you suck your dad”

-Wow… immature, weird, emotionally lopsided. That’s just flat out wrong to say…

I would say NO CHANCE…
