Why are state universities seemed like terrible places?

<p>I think state schools are really good.</p>

<p>my brother only applied to 1 school, a state school. he’s brilliant (technically a genius, iq 140+), perfect score on the sat without studying, etc. he joined the corp and is really happy. he’s applying to some graduate schools, then med school.</p>

<p>I love my state U. I even turned down one of them “respectable” state U’s to go to where I am now.</p>
