is anyone else having trouble writing the Cornell suppliment essay? i feel like mine's the worst out of my three... :(

Me too man. You’re not alone…SAT tomorrow too :(

same! subject tests… woot! (not)

i haven’t formally written mine, but I already know what I’m talking about. I wish there were a few more hours in the day…

i wrote one, edited it about 10 times, and then deleted that and just wrote a new one, but i feel like i’m not getting anywhere-- like i sound stupid and my essay’s generic. :-/

any progress on that essay, katmandoo?
I’m almost finished with mine and will have it looked over by a couple of teachers tomorrow. I just find that I work better with pressure.
I feel like I gave a semi-individual spin on my essay. But then again, I feel as if there’s no way you can really give an individual spin on the essay without destroying the purpose or structure of it.

yup. finished and submitted it but it’s no work of art :-/

i went over the word limit by 37 words, is that allowed?

I feel like mine isn’t either. Oh well. At least I tried
shuai, idk if it is. I would say stick to the word limit. I’ve heard of some people’s essays getting read only up to the 500th word. Anything over that was seen as extraneous. I don’t want to scare you though! They’ll probably let it slide

oh well too late now i actually submitted. I totally forgot about the word limit when i was submitting lmao. But i don’t see how they can tell the exact words. You can’t do word count on pdf, and there’s no way that someone is going to count them. Oh well, mine flows really well so the admission officer won’t even notice that i went over the word limit =P

Yep, they prob won’t notice. Especially in these times since it seems like their ED pool is going to skyrocket. Power to ya

i hope the applicants to CAS ED remain constant. Praying for a miracle.

i second that.

The rule of thumb is that the essay can be 500 words -/+ 10% (450-550).

yeah. it’s not like they’re going to count the words! :-P

and is anyone else really really nervous already???

I’m SUPER nervous. All I do is creep around CC and lurk on their website. T_T

lol same here^

lol this has to be unhealthy.

Lol we’re Cornell Creeps, it’s perfectly healthy.

Was anyone elses essay not necessarily incredibly specific? Mine read more like a narrative that answered the prompt than an expository o-o
