Why Chance Threads for Elite Schools Are Pointless (Don't Hurt Me)

Hey guys, so now that I’m done with the college admissions process, I’m sure that chance threads are pointless. No one who answers them really has ANY idea whether or not you’re going to get in. In fact, a decent amount of the people who answer are the same age as you! I applied to UVa with a 3.5 Gpa and a 2040 superscore. It wasn’t my first choice. I had a 590 on my math section, and I live in NY. I interned at a construction company in Nigeria, I have a few decent ECs, and I’m an African American male. Now, I’m fairly certain that if I made a chance thread, the answers wouldn’t have exactly been encouraging. Maybe (but probably not) I would’ve decided not to apply. But guess what? I got in! And believe me, I’m well aware that there are kids out there with stats WAAYYY better than mine who got rejected. Admissions for schools like these are a crapshoot. So basically, what I’m saying is that, in a way, chance threads for elite schools are a perfect example of the blind leading the blind- so why bother with them?
