I don't get it... they're talking about "respectability" and becoming a tournament team. Michigan State isn't even in the top 10. They don't have a better conference record, or even overall record than Michigan. Yet the students storm the court on them? Isn't that showing respect for State, acting like you beat a better team? They aren't a good team.

Sounds like you're trying to diss the Spartans... you could just come out and say it.

dude...did you watch the game? it was more about how michigan came back and beat a potential ncaa tourney elite 8 team at home. Plus, michigan needed this win badly.

Also consider that Michigan hasnt had this caliber of a basketball team for many years. Although they know they're good this year, I think this is just years of building potential being released. We've been waiting to be this good for a long time and we finally proved we were.

What do you mean? MSU is ranked #12. This is the team that beat Indiana and Boston College, and stomped Iowa 85-55. Michigan trailed most of the game and had a great come back to win. I would have stomped the court too if I were there.

Fate! And hard work.

I really wish I could've seen that game. I was shocked when I read about it on FoxSports. Man...the Spartans... :(

yeah...and michigan has only beat state twice in the last fourteen meetings.

that was the worst officiating i've seen in a while.... we didn't really deserve to win

I would also add that MSU is a Basketball powerhouse, having won the NCAA tournament just a few years ago and has made it to the Final Four a couple more times since then. Furthermore, MSU is a huge rival and has beaten us like 14 of the last 15 times! So this was definitely a huge win for Michigan. Besides, MSU may not have been a top 10 team, but they were #11.

OK, so it's not like it's Georgetown defeating unbeaten Duke, but Michigan State has had a better recent history in basketball (although Michigan is better in the other major sports). Michigan State really prides themselves with their basketball team. Izzo is a GOD there. I could be wrong, but I can't remember Michigan being a powerhouse since the days of Chris Webber and Co., and he's an NBA veteran now. These intrastate matchups in basketball can almost get as crazy and intense as college football bowl games. I loved seeing everyone jumping up and down in their yellow Michigan t-shirts. I hope that's me next year!
