What's the point? You're arguing about nothing. You're speaking in generalities, on a message board of all places.

Getting drunk is not a reasonable risk. It's stupid and the kind of "I'm young, I'm invulnerable, and nothing bad can happen to me,
[/quote]

why not? You haven't offered anything substantial, but rather have given unqualified statements like "its stupid"
I think it is a reasonable risk as long as you aren't completely stupid about it (i.e. getting drunk in a bad part of town by yourself, etc.). If you are with friends who can take care of you if you go a little too far, it is an acceptable risk. In all the time I've been in EMS, going on thousands of calls, I have never had a case of actually life-threatening alcohol poisoning. Of course you can get to that point, but only if you ingest a massive amount of actual alcohol in a short period of time. Your body usually shuts you down well before that point by vomiting.

I'll give the Apple Jacks answer: WE JUST DO!

LOL. As if I've even had alcohol....

getting drunk is always a good thing

if I didn't get drunk I'm not exactly sure how I would survive college. Is this a bad thing? maybe. But I'm getting very good grades and having a good time, so what's the problem?

Get drunk, and then you will find out. :)

The vehemence with which some people fight for the legitimacy of alcohol indicates that their comfort level with their own drinking is not all that they would like it to be ... otherwise they would be able to maintain a calm and rational debate on the subject.

Having worked on college campuses most of my life, I have seen how it has affected the lives of too many young people and their unwillingness to even consider how it might affect their lives is the most insidious symptom of their alcohol use.

No, we're just bothered by people who are constantly reviving a dead subject that is important only to the minority of college students who demand an explanation as to why drinking alcohol is so acceptable on university campuses. There's another thread on this page which really fired me up, but on a tangent.

I've actually stopped drinking, I hate how it makes me feel the next day. I'm not planning on stopping forever, but a break was definitely in order. Of course, I've tripled my use of marijuana since then, so it obviously had nothing to do with having a problem with substance use.

I think a lot of people like the feeling of not worrying. I've been drunk enough to hook up with girls (I'm a girl) and pee in the street. Now I only drink in moderation, if I drink at all. Alcohol in moderation just makes things more fun. Last time I drank we didn't do anything out of the ordinary, we sat around a camp fire and sung songs, but that was way more fun after a few beers.

the basic reasons why many people drink, is that they have hard so much work that when they drink is the only time where they can have a good time. Altough in college drugs are more common, specially marihuana

Yea, I like it because it tastes good and when I drink it I can relate to fun experiences with it. Also I love the way I feel when Im drunk
