I am an applicant who are even enchanted by U Chicago. My inclination towards U Chicago is much like an emotional gush! Yes, my enenthusiasm is ineffable, and what I tell about my choice is that I like strong academic atmophere there. What about you fellow prospective
U Chicago man. Where is your love of U Chicago from? Or just like me?

I am a first year.
I can promise that you will never be disappointed by the academics. They are very challenging, rewarding, and enlightening.
However, you may be a little disappointed by your grades…

Every time I read something on the UChicago site, in the materials they’ve sent me, or that a student of faculty member has written, it just screams weird to me. But weird in the same way that I’m weird. That’s why I’m applying.

When I visited, when I talked to fellow prospies and students, I just felt this overwhelming sense of community. No cliques, no pettiness, no bull. Just mutual respect and support.

As only a prospective student, when I visited, I loved the intellectual energy and atmosphere literally exploding from everywhere. The students all seemed to be creative, highly intelligent and motivated, and incredibly friendly. Also, the school, despite the strength of it’s academics, is not nearly as stuck-up as some other schools I’ve been to (cough cough tiger refreshments cough princeton cough).

And any school that sends me an email telling me I can be both a magician and a lawyer is pretty awesome in my book.

im an incoming first year. the people are amazing and very real; everyone is so open in the environment that the university has created. i also agree with HonorsCentaur about the excitement of a challenge.
