<p>You piqued my interest and I’m looking at her posting history now. She DOES know that ED at Dartmouth is binding, right? I mean, she’s being awfully active in the HYPSM+Columbia forums…</p>
<p>The foregoing is getting a little off point… in response to the OP (BTW not an undergrad., but have been on the H. faculty): other than prestige (to the common man), no idea why. Great university, with some top professional and graduate schools, but undergraduate? Except fot the name, a more intense and personal undergraduate education can likely be had at top LACs (a la Swarthmore, Williams, Amherst) or some universities with a stronger undergraduate focus (? Princeton). And… you won’t be sacrificing prestige in the eyes of “those who know”.</p>
