Why does the Common App allow you to submit to colleges even after the deadline?

<p>Is it so that the schools can receive more application fees without upholding their end of reviewing the application? I don't understand why the Common App will still allow you to submit. That's so weird.</p>

<p>CommonApp is just a channel for submitting application. It is up to school to decide whether it will actually go anywhere. You know you have passed the deadline when you submit the application, so they assume you have already know the potential outcome.</p>
