Why have some people gotten their decisions?

It seems like some people are posting that they heard back from UC Irvine. Yet, when I check my portal, it still says no decision has been made. Why is this? Does UC Irvine have some sort of rolling admission? If this is the case, is it a bad sign that I haven’t heard back yet? Or is it just like Berkley where a very select few applicants find out early and the rest find out at a normal time. I’m kind of worried because I have been waitlisted/rejected at all the other UCs and I’m hoping for good news from Irvine.

UCI does rolling decisions in waves so acceptances could go on for several days, followed by waitlist and then rejections if they hold to their usual decision timeline.

@Gumbymom So does that mean it is a bad sign if I have not heard anything yet, or have a lot of people not heard anything?

From what I recall last year, once the waitlist offers start coming in, that’s when the ballgame is over as far as acceptances goes. I think for last year waitlist offers started coming in Monday 8pm PT.

@ProfessorPlum168 So I guess that still leaves some time right? Do you know how many people have gotten their decisions yet? If most have they probably won’t release any more waves till the waitlist. If most haven’t, then they probably are still releasing decisions.

@Jason101200: UCI should be rolling out acceptances for a couple of days so sit tight and be patient. As stated by @ProfessorPlum168 once the waitlist starts then the acceptances are pretty much completed.

@Gumbymom ok that’s good to know, thanks for the info
