Iowa State was one of my safeties, but I know if I end up going there I would be happy. Why I love them though is that they really are making the effort--I even got a letter from the mayor of Ames. Congrats to everyone accepted!

Well, do you still love it? You would be a junior by now. Any advice for a potential business major?

Boy! I would like to know too. DD is adjusting and yet, it hasn’t been easy. She’s making an effort to meet people in classes and on her floor. Time will tell.

GLAW,
it sounds like she’s on the right track. Also, encourage her to seek out a club that suites her interest or volunteer for something in her spare time. He not only made a few friends, but also the networking helped him land a great summer internship. This is his sophomore year and couldn’t be happier when we dropped him off last Friday. He said “I’ll see you Thanksgiving”. Yea I know, boys are different though.

jasper,
Yeah, it must be a little different for boys and between freshman and sophmore year. I don’t remember it being so dramatic for me. There have been a few issues with room and suitemates, class confusion and wanting to do it all. Yesterday was a good day though. She’s at a 3 hour test-out right now and I hope that goes well. We know that Iowa State is the right choice for her and that things will settle down now that classes have begun.
