Why I want to go to... - Should You be Creative or Standard?!!!

I have all of these "why do you want to go duke... why do you want to go to northwestern... why do you want to go to McDonalds... ect. you get the point.

My question is, so far I have written them as "Georgetwon offers such and such programs, is located in the countries capital, has such and such tradition ect."

Should you be more creative on these, or keep them to the facts? I want to go a bit unorthodox, I read a northwestern one on here where the person pretending to be writing as if it were a news cast. Should you go out of the box on these? I want to stand out, but I dont to stand out becuase I didnt do it right...

Lets be frank, for some, im not sure exactly why I want to go to them. I know that they have strengths in certain areas, and through online research on their sites, I find stuff. But on all of them, I just put: I love this tradition, I love this part of the campus, I love this city it is by... ect. I need to spice it up I think right?

Can you make it more personal? When you visited, what grabbed you?
What was it about each school that spoke to you?
You may not be able to come up with something for all of the schools on your list, but try if you can. If you can picture yourself there, why?
Try to get beyond the beauty of the campuses and the traditions, and think about the people at the schools, either students you've met or faculty you've met/heard speak. Show them where they touched you.

Now lets say that we dont have such good of reasons. I now it is totally wrong, that I should know the exact reasons, but I was working at a summer camp all summer, and was not able to go to these schools. Should I just relate it to my intended future (poly scie/ law) and see what they have with that and such?

I guess if that's all you've got.
It's hard to believe there isn't something that drew you to the schools on your list, besides just the majors. Are you sure you've giving this enough thought? Dig down deep and come up with a reason that Duke/Stanford/ etc. fits you personally, even if it's just something you read in a book that grabbed you. You have to sound like a real person.

sounds good, thanks (i havent given college choices as much thought as I should have... but unfortunatly, it is too late, I intend to visit the schools I am accepted to after I am accepted, hopefully it will be more than 1, and decide from there)

It's not too late! With the exception of EA, you have until January 2- mid December if you want to play it safe.
Why are you in such a rush? Take your time. I know it sounds like everyone in the world has already submitted all their apps from this site, but believe me, there are those (like my son) who haven't "officially" started yet. He' s done a lot of thinking, but no rubber to the road yet. It's ok, because I know when he's ready, the finished product will be much better than if he tried to grind them all out now.
