i always see Princeton ranked in the top 5 but i dont know why. i have never heard of any famous programs at princeton.

Excellent/very good at everything + Low Acceptance % + Ivy League

what are they actually good at? i know they have low acceptance but what are their strong programs? i dont see any of princetons programs in top 10

Princeton is very strong in many fields:

Top 5:
Economics
English
History
Mathematics
Physics
Political Science

Top 10:
Computrer Science
Psychology
Sociology

Top 20:
Biology
Chemistry
Engineering
Geology

yo whered you get those rankings??

Those are the latest graduate rankings according to the USNWR.

Also, Princeton's endowment of $2.2 million/student is the highest on Earth. That does not hurt either.

ever hear of the Woodrow Wilson School of International Relations?

never heard of it

Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs

never heard of it. i just know woodrow wilson was president of princeton....

I think the answer, then, is that you haven't heard of any famous programs because you haven't been listening - not because Princeton doesn't have famous programs.

i think you are right... i have bad hearing according to my doctor, friends, family, and teachers.

In that case, if you're so convinced by your doctor, friends, family, and teachers that Princeton is unremarkable, then maybe you could do us the favor of keeping your wit to yourself. I don't understand why you posted this thread if you're going to dismiss responses with disbelief and petty sarcasm. You posted to see what other people think of Princeton's programs and why, and we're giving you that. Why the edginess?

..... what the hell are you talking about? i never said princeton was unremarkable... i never said that my doctor, friends, family, and teachers said princeton was bad.

it's pretty much very well rounded in everything...i think it's an ideal school for someone who's not sure what they wanna do and are deciding between a top 5.

I believe that Princeton has the highest per student endowment of any college or university in the country. "Rankings" and "prestige" are essentially just reflections of financial resources over a sustained period of time, with a bias towards NY/NE schools since that's where the money in the country was when educational reputations were being built in the first half of the last century.

im smelling a troll

and if you dont know why Princeton is top5, you need to watch Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Then you will know.

i am not trying to cause any trouble. i just want to know how princeton is so famous and ranked so high. princeton is not in top 10 for mba, law, medicine, and engineering.

They don't have any professional schools. And how is that relevant at all to an undergraduate ranking?

3365, you just got selfpwnd.
