Why is SAT important??

Lets say i want to go to UF and the SAT admission there is 2000. Why should I struggle to get anything above a 2000? I have already taken the SAT and luckily gotten exactly a 2000, but I am wondering is there any reason to take it again like scholarships?

2000 doesn’t guarantee admissions. A higher grade will make you look a lot better.

That’s just an average (usually reported with a standard deviation, or 1st/3rd quartiles)…colleges usually don’t have a minimum required SAT score.

A high SAT score can demonstrate that you’ve mastered the HS curriculum and that you’re ready for college, but test scores are only one factor in admissions.

A 2000 is a good score, but the admissions committee will look at more than that. If your gpa is solid and you write some interesting essays, you will get in somewhere “good enough.”

Some merit scholarships are based on GPA and test scores - higher scores = more money.
