Why is the acceptance rate that high?

Maryland said they accepted around 4000 freshman out of 30,000 applicants, which is no where near the 47 percent acceptance rate.

If I’m not mistaken, the 4075 class size is the number of students who enrolled, not those who were offered admission. I’m not quite sure what the current acceptance rate is but it’s nowhere near the 13% that it could be made out to be based on the numbers on the website.

Okay yeah that makes sense

UMD will probably admit 12,000 to 15,000 students. knowing that only one-third will actually enroll
