I was looking at UC for my daughter in the DAAP program. The tuition for out of state folks is not only higher than that of any other Ohio State school ( which is strange) but is higher than that of any state school in the US that I know of. It is even higher than Michigan, Berkeley, Virginia etc. Does anyone know why>

University of Miami (OH) has a higher tuition in state I believe, but yeah UC is insanely expensive. They say its for all the new construction, supposedly a bunch of new dorms and a huge student center are going in. In reality its just the state and the moron governor isn't giving much money at all to Higher education, its all going to K-12 now (don't get me started) You can be sure of one thing, its not going to security, as UC is like in the worst area of town, and noone goes out after dark.

UC is definitely not in the worst part of town. I live in Cincinnati, and I go to Clifton(the neighborhood it's in) all the time at night, and there are always lots of people around. It's a really neat area of town too. There are many much worse places in Cincinnati than Clifton.
