Why isn't MIT called MassTech?

It sounds funny, meaningful, and cool. Also, it keeps equilibrium (Caltech, MassTech).

Its better than CIT and MIT

Because it's MIT. duh. plus Masstech sounds weird and spells weird

And it takes longer to write. MIT took me a lot less time to type than MassTech.

Caltech isn't CIT because CIT is Carnegie Institute of Technology.

masstech is too hard to say. MIT is much easier, plus it spells TIM backwards!!

Hcetssam The Beaver

...Gets stopped at the airport a lot more than Tim...

And also, if MIT weren't going to be called MIT, it'd be called Boston Tech. Nowadays, that name is [url="<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Tech%22%5Dtaken%5B/url">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Tech"]taken[/url</a>].</p>

haha, but thats the point right? It's funny that people will remember.

"masstech is too hard to say. MIT is much easier, plus it spells TIM backwards!!"

That cracked me up. Well, I was thinking that "masstech" sounded meaningful because MIT is top in technology. So, it's place is tech is huge (mass).
Besides, its from massachusetts.

Hey now, MIT came BEFORE CalTech =D. I think it'd be cute to call Caltech "CIT" (pronounced SIT!). Bwaha.

^
haha. Yeah, and whenever Caltech messes with MIT (oops, MassTech) then MIT could say "CIT down, boy"

horrible joke.

^
Wonderful joke!

I have to agree with The Speaker that Hcetssam the Beaver would be an awful name. If nothing else, we have to keep MIT for the beaver's sake.

^oh..lmao..i had to think about that one for a bit ^_^

"^^
lol. But you get rid of the Hcets part and then u'll have Sam the Beaver!

Hey, I'm thinking of putting this in the quirkiness essay to show my sense of humor
. . .
yeah. I hope I don't over do it.

^^ u waitlisted at MIT?

Nnnooo . . . why? I have yet to apply.

You know, I was thinking the same thing... except I somehow thought that Masstech sounded kinda dirty. Now I realize why.

It sounds like : As$tech

Which sounds like Aztec...

So... Maztec? Which sounds like NASDAQ.

Because "Masstech" sounds like a reference to Office Space's "Initech" :D

but there is also georgia tech and virginia tech etc and none of them is named GIT or VIT so masstech makes more sence
