Why Law?

I am a high school student and I am in limbo between a career in business or law, were I to go into law i would go into corporate law. My question is whether or not I would like law and in particular law shcool, I really enjoy politics Bill O'reilly Ann Coulter and would love having to study the background of legal cases I am also a very confident public speaker. But the caveat is that I do not like to write alot, and it seems that the vast majority of law is writing do you think a career in law would be advisable?

Keep in mind that you don't have to choose either way now.

I would just... go to college first. Don't worry about what may or may not happen 4 or more years from now, assuming you are a senior.

I'm just gonna come out and say it... if you "do not like to write alot" then forget about law school.

If you hate writing, you will be better suited to a career in business.

Heck, even in business there's plenty of writing. You just have to learn how to be concise...

What type of writing do you hate? All? or just Essays and the such?

My husband is in Law school, Aside from the Legal Writing class where he did have to write a lot, he did not have classes with a lot of writing. All finals are clearly written, and he usually fills out a complete blue book front to back and sometimes even more than one blue book.... also they have some assigments that include writing memorandums and briefs, but if you enjoy learning about legal cases, this is really not the same type of writing as writing an essay. You research, and proveyour point utilizing the cases you have found, if you find it interesting you should find the writing process interesting as well.

Now once you become a lawyer, it is a lot more memos and briefs and that can get tedious.

I enjoy writing and reading, but I am just not the fastest reader. I like to take my time with a book, enjoy it, relish it, and remember many aspects of it. Although I did get a 5 on the AP English Language exam, I'm just worried that I'm not a fast enough reader to do well on the LSAT.

The writing I am refering to is more like essay type writing I can write free hand papers of lengths to like five pages or more in an hour easily for debate cases and things, but for school with my teacher who judges us critically it is alot more diffucult.
