I visited Harvey Mudd last year and really liked the intensity and getting to work closely with the professors. It has a great reputation for engineering of course. And I have anecdotal evidence that Mudd CS majors can have some good success in the jobs market. Anyone care to share the pluses and minuses of choosing Mudd for CS? Thank you.

My friends who are CS majors pretty much have a breeze getting jobs (especially the girls, but that might just be because I have more CS major friends who are girls). Like my friends have worked at Google and Facebook for the past two summers, and apparently Google is full of Mudders. We have a great job fair in the fall that brings in tons of employees, especially ones who are looking for CS majors. That seems to help a lot of people.

I think the introductory CS sequence is attractive to a lot of people because it eases in people who have never done CS before. There are also introductory classes at different levels so people who have more experience can be challenged.

Downsides to our CS department is that it is small and the demand for classes is high. CS majors have a hard time getting into classes within their major. Most of them only get into one or two CS classes per semester after they finish Core classes. Many of them complain about that.
