So I have written an essay for why princeton engineering. However, I realized that I mainly just talked about all my research experiences and self-studying computer science, and why I like computer science. I never really talked about why I want to go to princeton specifically for computer science, and I’m not sure what I can talk about. Really, Princeton just has lots of opportunities for research and working with awesome professors. However, I feel like all this is really cliche… Idk
@chesspusher something about your essay is bothering you for a reason, trust your gut and work on it some more (after a short break, and some distance).
My son’s engineering essay was 3 paragraphs:
1st para: talked about how engineering fits him and how he enjoys challenges and solving problems
(Goals: convey his personality a little, make him relatable)
2nd para: talked about his engineering work, especially his summer research project and working with a team at NASA (Goals: show his engineering work, shows he can collaborate)
3rd: talked about why Princeton would be a good place for an engineer of his type, mentioned a few specifics about a Princeton (Goals: show he has thought about what he could give back to the school, how/why Princeton is a good fit)
Good luck!

@psywar- Where did your son got admissions from and where did he finally join?
@amoghkolkata he is at Princeton, Class of 2020. He was offered admission to several Texas schools with excellent scholarships, but he applied SCEA to Princeton and when admitted, he jumped at the chance to attend.
