No, I'm not the Joker. Why are you all so serious about college and life in general to come on here and talk about crap? Chill out dudes, life is a joke.

Peace out.

No, I'm not the Joker. Why are you all so serious about college and life in general to come on here and talk about crap? Chill out dudes, life is a joke.

Peace out.

Some people give a **** about what they do with their life surprisingly. Weird, huh? :p

Really? That’s ****ed up, considering it all comes to nothing in the end. :D

I come on here and talk about crap for fun. Who cares?

Well, the sun will explode one day - so I doubt anyone will engender lasting change on anything on this planet. And our species (the human race) will probably be wiped out long before the sun explodes.

Worse still, no one really cares about you when you die save a small sub-group of people. And two generations later, pretty much no one will remember or care about you at all.

I mean, even think of someone like George Washington - some extremely famous person with an enormous life and legacy. How many times did you think about him in the past week? Zero, huh? Hell, you didn’t even know the guy or give a $h!t about him!

It’s just funny seeing power-hungry zealots in our society hell-bent on leaving some sort of legacy, to “live” after death. I’m sorry — it cannot be done. You got your time and the means to brighten the lives of others while you’re alive. When you’re done, you’re done.

But life pretty much is a joke – we’re all randomly wired horny, hungry apes following our pre-programmed egos and arbitary biological impulses — doing anything for varying forms of satiation and pleasure. For some unknown reason and some mystical lottery, you inhabited the consciousness of a human being, in the 21st century, as one of the few people living a comfortable middle-class life in one of the most developed countries in the West. Hell, odds are good you might even be a white male college student if you’re reading this. Yet the mere chances that you inhabited the consciousness of any life form but an insect were already extremely low.

The point is — there are no rules here — we’re not in any sort of foot race. So no one cares if you’re a lawyer at the Big Firm or what you’re annual salary will be when you graduate.

Maybe those of us that care about our education want to be in a career we enjoy? If that’s insignificant, I have to wonder why you try to enjoy anything in life…after all, it’ll all end eventually!

My point is do whatever the hell you want – don’t look to others or some societal expectations as a measuring stick. Of course, don’t run away from traditional jobs if that’s what you truly want to do.

Trying to maximize your happiness and pleasure is one philosophy of going about life. I mean, $h!t, I don’t have it all figured it out at all. I’m just putting down some thoughts.

I think about George Washington when I buy stuff :p. But then again, college kids don’t have money so yeah you’re right. I don’t think about him very often ;).

Interesting, I was thinking about this the other day…the best way for the government to “enslave us” but still keep us functional is to make us slaves of our emotions.

In order to achieve maximum happiness and pleasure is to have a lasting identity and effect on the world. Either by finding your own niche or finding the love of your life (my opinion).

But hey op, look at it this way. You ask why people complain on a forum when none of it matter and it is all a game? People come to the forum in distress asking partly for their own comforting and also a solution to their problem. Both for their own personal gain. If life is a joke, a little personal gain never hurt anyone.

If the word ends in 2012 i’m gunna be ****ed.

I agree with OP.

You all need to CHILL OUT. Especially the frosh. : )

“If the word ends in 2012 i’m gunna be ****ed.”

I know right. : (

hmmm…you’re right. everyone should just kill themselves right now.

Because I don’t want the 50, 60, 70 years of my life to be miserable, regretful, or monotonous. It’s not like you can plan your death. You can’t say, “I’m going to have unprotected sex with as many girls as I can, quit my job, try as many drugs out there, and die by the end of the month.” Unless you commit suicide or have a terminal illness, you’re going to have to live with all the things you did and should of did for 20, 30, 40, 50+ years.
