<p>UCLAri they are nerd schools like UCSD. I'm only talking about the normal UC kid here. My point is UCSD would be as in demand as UCLA and Cal if it had football. The academics are not the problem, the atmosphere is. UCSD will stay #3 for that reason. Football just makes a school better. You can't argue that one dude.</p>

<p>Y'know, I really don't know that football would help UCSD. I think that plenty of programs like Cornell, who even have football programs, end up getting the "nerd" title affixed to them.</p>
