<p>Hello everyone! I need urgent help, I am writing 3 of the dreadful "why our college" essay, and I am having trouble. I know exactly what I want to write, I just don't know how to start it off. Any tips?? Please get back to me, thanks.</p>

This is for BU, Brandeis and Columbia
I want to major in journalism and communications
(I realize Columbia does not offer journalism for undergrads, but they do have student design and independent major)</p>

<p>Thanks! That works for Brandeis and BU. But sadly I’ve never had the opportunity to visit Columbia. So I would need another approach for it.</p>
<p>Most students research college websites to learn more about academics, school culture, and campus life. Maybe even watch YouTube videos on Columbia. Delve deep and you’ll learn why Columbia is for you, besides because it’s Ivy League. And if Columbia doesn’t have your major, maybe it’s not the best fit college for you. What good is independent major if they don’t offer the courses to support it. Self-study for $60K, way too expensive.:)</p>

<p>Thank you so much! By doing what you said I learned so much more from Columbia and BU, that helped me write my essay and get a better sense of what they both have to offer. My essays turned out great, the only one I have left to write is “why Brandeis?” Essay.</p>
<p>I switched my writing prompt for Brandeis to the one that asks if a package arrived at my door and what was inside would make it the best day of my life what would it be. The essay was much easier to write and turned out great, thanks for the help everyone!</p>
