Why was I wait-listed at Boston University?

Maybe it was yield protection. Your SAT scores are all above their 75th percentile. SAT 2s are a little ugly. Hard to imagine that would be enough to torpedo you. Better luck with Gtown.

Actually, on 2nd thought…With BU’s requirement of 2 SAT subject tests, it’s possible, though not probable, that your subject test scores sunk you.

As ToTheSky said, college admissions’ process is so unpredictable. You can’t possible make sense of why they accepted/rejected/waitlisted certain applicants. I got in Northeastern’s Spring start with good aid and waitlisted at BU, when my friend got rejected from Northeastern and got in BU with a good scholarship. 'Tis so strange. 'm pretty sure my stats are higher than her and yet…:frowning: BU’s still my top choice though so let’s just all hope and wait till waitlistees hear back a decision.

they don’t love you enough. or maybe they thought your essay was boring. who knows!

Listen… college admission is quite sunjective and SAT scores don’t mean that much.

I have 3.72 GPA (rank1) competitive school
2050 SAT I
750 Math II, 730 Chem, 710 Physics
My senior schedule includes 7 AP classes and I still maintained the best GPA

I am from a country that is unknown and they might take me just for that.

I have 2000+ hours of community service and work experience, amazing recommendations and good content essays

Despite that, I won’t be surprised by even being deferred.

BU is a great school and your profile truly seems typical
