I know it depends on the person, but how did you decide, if you did at all, that Wellesley but no other school was perfect for you?

I’m going to Wellesley next year (ED :D) and planning on majoring in IR.

I visited every school that I was going to apply to in the winter of my junior year, and it just so happened that the day my family was driving out to Wellesley happened to be in the middle of a huge snowstorm. Some of the people on the tour were grumbling a little bit (well, maybe not a little bit) about all the snow, but as we walked around, I saw that the students didn’t seem to be bothered at all. They were actually walking in GROUPS and talking and laughing, as opposed to the students at other schools I’d visited, who walked alone and seemed determined to get to their next class in as little time as possible. Seeing all of those girls looking like they were part of a community, and looking so happy in the blizzard on the beautiful campus…

That’s when I decided I wanted to go there.

Other factors:

 • Close proximity to boston/area colleges
 • Excellent alumnae network
 • Really good IR program
 • Strong academics/prestige
 • Decent music program (I’m a viola player)
 • It’s not all uppity about being a women’s college
 • Gorgeous campus
