Why Williams?

I'm currently a junior, who has been researching about colleges since last October. Through discussions with my college counselors, parents, and peers, I've come to believe that Williams College is a good match for me, in the sense that it's very possible I can get admitted by both colleges, but also that both colleges match my personality/character. What are the different aspects of Williams College that you fellow CC'ers like or dislike? Secondly, what are the strongest programs at Williams?

we are trying to answer this question in Williams College thread :)

Hey, Mediterranean by "both colleges" which other college are you referring to?

he's referring to Brown

Yeah, I was referring to Brown. Sorry for the mix-up; I was copying and pasting from another thread I started, which compared Brown and Williams College.

Since you are confident that you will get into both Williams and Brown you must be an extremely qualified applicant. I suggest you take a look at Brown, not because it is better (it's just different), but because it offers merit awards. My friend got into Brown last year on a full ride. He got no money whatsoever from Harvard or Yale.

...but don't get me wrong, just because Williams doesn't offer merit awards it still offers EXCELLENT financial aid. I only have to pay half of what it costs to attend a local UC (I probably wouldn't have received ANY financial aid from a UC).

Sorry my assessment between the two schools is shallow only taking into account merit aid. However I am not qualified to make a comparison between Brown and Williams. I have never visited Brown/thoroughly researched it =/.

Well, what I said before is that it's very possible that I can get admitted (I'm basing this because my SAT and GPA are above the averages for both schools). Nevertheless, I'm not saying I'm purely confident I'll get admitted to both schools since it's unpredictable to a certain extent.
