Why Yale over Harvard?

That doesn't prove anything for you, let alone that Yale's current #3 ranking means that it gets sub-Harvard students. Enough already.

byerly stop, you are seriously embarassing harvard
as an ea acceptee and prospective undergrad, i am humiliated to think that a harvard grad has nothing better to do with his life than post on a board for 17 years olds about why harvard is better than yale
get a life and quit embarassing your alma mater!

The Harvard/Yale cross-admit numbers are a better indication of which school tends to have its pick of the top applicants than any "ranking."

or just ignore me

Has anyone else forgotten what the actual OP was and is clueless as to why we have reached seven pages thus far and have accomplished absolutely nothing???

Maybe our cluelessness a sign from "up above" that we are carrying on something that is ridiculously time consuming and ultimately worthless. MOVE ON, people. Let's change the topic of conversation to one that can possibly end sometime in the near future, because this whole Yale vs. Harvard BS is absurd. Some are repeating the same statements over and over, and others (maybe even included within the "some") are throwing out bizarre numbers and facts that have no weight on anything that's truly important to anyone with a pulse.

So please, let's talk about something new that actually holds some significance in life.

How about focussing on what you like about the school you hope to attend without finding it necessary to put down other schools in the process?

For example, if you like Yale, try to tell us why without rationalizing your opinion by claiming that it is "better than" Harvard, Stanford, Princeton etc in whatever respect?

Word of advice to all posters and thread creators on CC:

Ignore NYCFan. Let him post to his hearts desire. Carry on your conversations without him. Don't post/counterpost with him. He will derail your thread as he does threads on other websites. Just go on with your discussion and ignore this serial interloper. We are dealing with a serious case of advanced OCD. Pretend he's nonexistent and deny him the pleasure of jousting with teenagers. Pity those of you Northeast Harvard applicants who will have the misfortune to be interviewed by him. Word of caution: If you are a moderate republican/moderate democrat, steer clear of political topics if he brings them up. He proselytizes for fringe extreme right wing causes (he is to the far right of ATH and espouses his views with the same zealotry as you see on these boards). Change the subject or nod in agreement and move on. Of course if you are an extreme leftwinger, you and he can have at it. Please don’t judge Harvard by this anomaly. He is ruining the reputation of an otherwise great school, especially since a middle-aged man like him finds such great pleasure in constant confrontation with teenagers. It is a shame that after a great Harvard education, it has come to this. One wonders what elite education is all about. Please ignore this NYCFan guy completely from now on.

ps. To Northeast Harvard applicants: Discreetly inquire where your interviewer went after Harvard. If he says UMich Law, you may have your man. Be very cautious with him. Now, this is better college admissions advice than NYCFan has given so far after 207 posts.

I guess NYCFan is the same person as Byerly?

On the money.

its the same reason as ..why Burger king over Mc ds...

Neither of those restaurants are good :p. I guess we can argue which one is the worse of the two though :)

Remarks to Yale Tercentennial by Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers

http://www.president.harvard.edu/speeches/2001/yale.html

Do you guys ever wonder if futajalon IS byerly?

ROFL. Bebere87, before you are done with college please write a spy novel. Your post is much needed comic relief. I love your imagination. Agatha Christie? You just made my day. Thanks. I'd say NYCFan put you up to this. Nah.

I share your suspicions bebere87. Futajalon has a total of ten posts, and all of them regard Byerly. Also, Byerly has never tried to dispute Futajalon's claim. I might be confused, though.

thats would be soo schizo..hehe

it is kinda interesting that all futajalon ever posts about is byerlys history
and that reply to bebere was very byerly-like in terms of its language

so, bebere, i concur

Futajalon could just be another poster from the "other" college board. You can get the information he has posted here from searching the other forums for nycfan.

I'm loving this, guys. NYCFan, aka Byerly, is most likely chuckling at your posts. A normal person would just sit back and enjoy this, but given his compulsive nature, he'll soon appear to attack my posts. He can't resist.

what are the websites of the other forums?
