<p>I'm just trying to find out the word limit for the Why Yale Essay. The common app doesn't mention any limit and appears to not have any restriction... I couldn't find anything on the Yale website. Hoping someone knows the answer. Thanks!</p>
<p>I try to keep my supplemental essays around 250 words, but that’s just me. Maybe look around on the Common App site.</p>
<p>In a previous year it was only 500 characters but I wouldn’t count on that b/c the character count seems to change a lot from year to year. It seems so strange that there is no info on the common app.</p>

<p>Yes you are right. It is 120 words. I found out by contacting Common Ap and they told me if you click outside of the text box and then in it, it will tell you the word limit. When I put 1000 words in, it told me the word limit. When I put 300 words in, it didn’t mention it.</p>
