What made you fall in love with Pomona?

the atmosphere, the weather (compared to seattle :)), the people, the small size and strong departments, and the fact I can play baseball in sunny california. oh yeah and the beautiful campus.

Ditto what he said except football instead of baseball. Only negative is that it is 3000 miles away. But it's still worth it IMO.

My love and adoration for Southern California, superior academics and still in close proximity to the film industry (I first had my eyes set on USC's film school), small size and yet a large network b/c of consortium, easy access to city but not in the city, cool people and so on.....

Snack. A free 4th meal.

Pomona is one of the top schools in the country. It cannot be compared to any but Ivy League institutions or small LAC's in New England or perhaps, in PA (Swarthmore) or MN (Carleton). Given that those other schools are 5 or in some cases 10 hours away from those who live on the west coast, if you factor in the lengthy drive time from local airports (Williams), there is really no reason to make the trip. Hence, Pomona is the only option.

What's not to love?

-outstanding academics with profs who love to teach, and WILL teach (no TAs)
-beautiful campus close to mountains, ocean, and desert, as well as Los Angeles
-Smart, friendly and diverse student body
-Personal attention and accomodation
-a lot of interdisciplinary majors you don't find many other places
-Good food
-nice dorms and housing situation
-easy and cheap parking for those who care (and frosh can have cars)
-4 other colleges to keep things interesting

Pomona has it all. :)
