why do older people always bash on freshmen? or so it seems as if its only CCers. i am a freshmen and freshmen at my school don't get treated the way some of you upperclassmen treat us. and anyway i have a lot of senior and junior friends so...i don't get it. WHY DO YOU HATE US??!?!??!!

I don't think its just CCers. Freshmen in my school aren't called freshmen, only freshmeat. My friend and I made a joke that when people throw meat at the band we will use the freshment to keep us clean.

I think it's just a universal thing. Freshmen are the noobs in a big pond. They need to get broken in. Plus, often times freshmen are extremely immature. This year everywhere I have heard of the freshmen start pointless fights and the girls seem to be extremely skanky.

the immature thing applies to everyone of every age. college freshmen can still be immature compared to college seniors

ditto to what Troubleinabox said...

example: In the middle of the listening part of my AP spanish exam on Tuesday 2 freshmen girls walk in, apparently the rather large sign on the door wasn't a dead give away that they should read it first. I wouldn't have been too angry though if that was all. These 2 lovely girls procede to stand the in doorway giggling for a minute then run away... no sorry, no nothing.

Its not all freshmen that I dislike, I don't mind my sister or any of her friends, its just the rude and idiotic ones that bug me. Unfourtunately for freshmen the 90% of them that are like this give the other 10% a bap rap. But jsut think... next year you get to be a sophomore... a little more respect then a frosh (then again look at where "sophomore" comes from and it doesn't actually sound too good!)

There is a big age gap and hence a gap in maturity between freshmen and seniors. Four years of adolescence and adulthood is a big jump versus someone who is 35 and someone who is 39. Some schools and people whom are upperclassmen just bash freshmen because of the tradition (as well as for the fact that they like it, for some get a sense of power from being older). Other places and people see freshmen as the new batch and treat them either as dummies or as the next group that will keep everything alive. I see freshmen in this manner, for these people are the lifeblood of the school; without freshmen the school will die in three years.

I kind of noticed a pattern.
Freshmen - Freshmeat, most are irratating. No clue as to how things work and end up causing unneccessary trouble and pointless drama. There are good kids mixed in and often don't get bashed on, but don't get put on a pedestal either.
Sophmores - Still kinda new, but they know how things work. They generally tend to goof off.
Juniors - More into relationships or continue goofing off like in their sophmore year. They are upperclassmen and and air of superiority is present whether they acknowledge it or not.
Seniors - Just trying to enjoy their last year. Don't want to leave while want to get out fast as possible.

Seniors: people who are scared of college, attempting to enjoy their last year, then sink into depression in the spring semester and become *******s to everyone else, and fade away for the next class to take over

In a way that is kind of depressing.

And Juniors are just counting the days down til they can get out of highschool and into college.

370 or so to go... :)

Not necessarily...we have another year to go as well as the most difficult part of our career for some. For many of us here applying to selective schools, next year will be very trying as everything changes and adulthood becomes a reality with all of its problems and freedom attached.

Stop overthinking and be a real Junior :)

I was never a "real" HS student to begin with...HS was just a place of instruction on succeeding at the next level. I have no one and know about four people in the school. I don't care too much, either, because I can't stand my own class. Everything else is much better.

because freshman are irritating.
i am a junior, and i didn't realize how much i have changed in the last 3 years until just recently.

I have not changed at all, but many of the students in my grade have. It is a big problem for me because I am not as socially adept as most of the students in my grade, which is why I don't find freshmen irritating: they provide good social practice.

In three years, check back to this thread. Seriously.

It's because I lost my gf to a freshman! jk

I love freshmen. They're so naive.

Let's hope there are no forum changes during that time period, because then this would be gone.

My freshman friend recently asked me this.

"What's a one night stand?"

^^^that is why everyone hates freshmen.

Some freshmen are annoying because of their freshmen-isms.

Freshmen funk, they don't take showers

aren't potty trained, lol

naive

think high school is somehow like middle school

don't know where anything is

uninformed on everything

the worst kind of freshmen....the 20 year old freshmen.

I admit, these are gross generalizations at my school...so they are not to be taken seriously.

i hate when freshmen think they own the place...if ya hafta give 'em a few swirilies, wedgies, or sucker punches, so be it (not really but yea)...if they know they are just entering a new realm and are humble and nice and all, it's good...but some think they are the big bosses and freshmen always make the principal threaten to disband unit lunch
