So why did you guys choose to go accelerated rather than just guaranteed? or why do you prefer accelerated?

My reasoning was personal due to what's going on in my life and my future.

What about you guys?

So why did you guys choose to go accelerated rather than just guaranteed? or why do you prefer accelerated?

My reasoning was personal due to what's going on in my life and my future.

What about you guys?

well one of the reasons is that i want to get out there and do research sooner. curing shtuff and so forth. ummm yeah i might also wanna get my phd. and who wants to spend 14 yrs in college. for ruhl.

Whoo Md/phd Ppl Yeaaaaaaaaaaah

ummmm...I just want to get done with college in less time rather than spending like 50 years in college and 5 in the real world.

there's a diff. b/w accelerated and guaranteed??

i applied to both types of programs, mainly I just want to be a doctor and since I have great stats (or so I think) right now, why waste time in college trying to studying for MCATs when I wasted so much time on SATs and getting such a high GPA

it's less stress when you already have a guarantee that your in. otherwise its another 4 yrs. of working your tail off and still not being sure if you'll make it into med school. and who wants all that extra stress and competition when you can have it easy with these kind of programs? not me! :)

Same with me, I don't really care so much for the accelerated part, but any guaranteed is nice. I can relax and enjoy college more doing cool internships or whatever, rather than having to worry about how things will look on my application.

But if I get into an accelerated program, I wouldn't mind losing that year or two to use for something else.

I just want the guaranteed. Don't give a crap about accelerated.

I'm actually avoiding 6-year programs because I wanna ENJOY college, not fly through it.

I've always known that I want to be a surgeon - - and this leaves more young years for an amazing, but long, residency. And it's a lot less stress too, I think, guaranteed or accelerated (the latter would be better, though) - MCATs don't matter, you know what you want to do and you're out there doing it.
